@bishopfox won the Defcon for me today with their amazing DryBar social! The swag was so cute and thoughtful as well ๐ฉท And who doesn't love bumping into @shehackspurple and taking multiple cool photos with her! ๐
Overwhelmed by the fact that y'all still think I've still go interesting enough things to say ๐๐ฉท Hope it was worth your while, everyone who attended ๐
๐ฅณ We are thrilled to announce that @secnerdette will speak at MacDevOps YVR 2023. She has presented many times and she is awesome ๐ https://t.co/l5hxJhOcwp
I just released a follow-up to my recent blog. It's all about creating a culture of community involvement at your company!
It has a focus on getting new folks involved with blogging and conference speaking and helping them promote their work.

@tambryantbutow ๐ฏ Agree! You can teach someone the skill but it's nearly impossible to teach them the will.
Though how do you test for will in interviews? I've seen most tech interviews are over-optimized for skill testing and will testing feels almost non-existent.
Trying out Arc by @browsercompany and love the workspaces feature a lot!
It'd be such a great productivity boost if Arc let us open terminal in the app too and let us make various terminal windows a part of various workspaces as well! ๐
Reviewing conference proposals for the first time ever for a major conf. It's so interesting to be on the other side of that process ๐
Learning lots about how can I make my own future proposals better ๐ So much to learn from everyone!
Here's what I've been working on since I joined @twilio@segment late last year: migrating 24K users to a new API for SMS MFA.
It's challenging and nerve-wracking ๐ฅด, but it's pretty fun too! ๐ค

You've spent 4 hours non-stop trying to get something to work. You think you're on your last PR and you hit an error.
Brain tells you it doesn't make sense to get up now and just finish debugging then wrap up the day otherwise you'll lose productivity momentum. Brain is wrong!
I've been thinking about this a lot off late! How would you solve this? ๐ค
I think a good starting point would be asking these Qs per control:
- How much do we spend on it?
- When was the last time we used it?
- Can another technology do the same thing?
@Balgan@GossiTheDog@Infosec_Taylor@jamiemaccoll InfoSec spends A LOT in security controls every year, and I believe a lot is ineffective. We're going to need to be measurable more efficient and not just always ask to increase spend. How you noticed particular classes of security controls that don't seem to be of much value?
@macvfx So do you Mat! You and so many work so hard to bring the community together and enable us all to meet peers, share info, and be merry together!
Peers doing great work can be seen as a threat or inspiration. How we choose to see it determines how we'll go down in history. It's wild to me how so many people don't understand this simple thing!
