His dad told me they got up at 4 a.m., and it rained the entire time—but it was worth it! It’s a fishing trip this father and son won’t soon forget. I’d love to see pictures of your catches! Bill Bullard just explained how meat packers hide imported beef from 20 countries behind a USDA inspection sticker and sell it right next to domestic product as if it was raised here.

30,000 pounds of uninspected beef from Argentina hit Florida and Texas grocery shelves this month. Under current law, consumers have no way to know where their beef was born, raised, or slaughtered.

Packers profit from the deception. They source cheaper foreign beef, mark it with a USDA stamp, and price it right next to the real thing. You pay the same. The rancher back home gets undercut.

Mandatory country of origin labeling passed the Senate Ag Committee 17-6. The House blocked it. The same packers who fought MCOOL in 2015 are fighting it again today.

However, Wisconsin Public Radio and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported today that the WI Dept of Revenue has revoked Minocqua Brewing Co.'s brewer's permit (and warehouse permit) for alleged violations like unauthorized retail/shipping and untaxed beer. Effective Aug 4, they can appeal and keep operating meanwhile. Owner Kirk Bangstad calls it political payback tied to his activism.
