@PlayingUs An interesting fact I found out and quite relevant to the ending is that originally the last sequence was scripted as one long cutscene. This idea was however scrapped to make it in parts playable. Resulting in a more ambiguous ending. #PlayingWithTheEnd19
@PlayingUs While writing the term paper I have come across a variety of 'behind-the-scenes" sources in which Druckmann explains his motivations in the creation of the game. Have a look if interested!

@TLOUValentino@PlayingUs I think FEDRA is "the military" that we encounter in the game. The government doesn't exist anymore and therefore I don't think an official military/army exists. FEDRA was established to keep L&O, but it doesn't really protect everyone, does it? #PlayingWithTheEnd19
@PlayingUs The last scene in the firefly lab when Joel is carrying Ellie to safety has a significant familiarity to the prologue when he is carrying his daughter. #PlayingWithTheEnd19
@PlayingUs I tried to throw a brick at the doctor but it had no effect on his character. The only way past him is to kill him. How are we better than them?... #PlayingWithTheEnd19
@PlayingUs Do they have another choice? Is Ellie another sacrifice for the greater good. Is this like in the ancient times, a child sacrifice... #PlayingWithTheEnd19
@PlayingUs This latest chapter I think has to be one of the best in terms of giving both the characters and the player hope for a happy end. Especially after the gruesome cold chapter with the cannibals. Spring symbolizing a new beginning. #PlayingWithTheEnd19
@PlayingUs It is interesting to see the prompt that the developers are giving us during the cut-scene when Ellie wakes up. The machete has that all-too familiar glow symbolizing an object that can be used. #PlayingWithTheEnd19
@PlayingUs When Joel finds Ellie’s backpack along with the clothes that are neatly folded, this is a complete different picture than was presented to us from the KZ-like hunter meathouse…one step on from savagery? #PlayingWithTheEnd19
@PlayingUs The scene where Joel tortures the two men to find out about Ellie’s whereabouts I think is significant because it shows the length he is willing to go. Is torture is worse than murder…? #PlayingWithTheEnd19
@PlayingUs I am thinking about the judgement here, yes they kill, but do they have a choice. It brings back survival of the fittest, and not only against the infected, but also against other groups. This is the savagery that has returned. #PlayingWithTheEnd19
@PlayingUs The blood trail from the deer leads on from what happened in the previous section, with Joel also being wounded and having to be saved by Ellie. #PlayingWithTheEnd19
@PlayingUs The fact that Joel found the flamethrower in a university, which is clearly constructed from things that were available, shows the creativity and innovativeness of higher education #playingwiththeend19
@PlayingUs The decisions of the game developers to moderate the speed of the gameplay through changing the movement speed of the player has a major effect of how we as player experience the scene. Should we be sneaky, brutal, calm...etc. #PlayingWithTheEnd19
@PlayingUs I think this is a significant chapter in the relationship development between Joel and Ellie. The reversal in his decision after she escapes imo shows that Joel cares more about her safety than finding the cure #PlayingWithTheEnd19
@PlayingUs I think it is weird that the characters are still operating under the American flag, as I don't think that the current state of civilization grants a reason for a unified nation. #PlayingWithTheEnd19
