@easternair355 Sugar discs help prevent this or you can put a tiny piece of bread in your sugar container. The disc is cooler though.

Cole flipped through the invoices again.
“This isn't a gift,” he said. “This is maintenance.”
I slowly looked up from my coffee.
“Interesting.”
He knew immediately where this was going.
“When you gave me a device that improved the Wi-Fi upstairs,” I said, “you called it thinking of me.”
“That’s different.”
I raised an eyebrow.
“Say that again.”
“That's different.”
“Slowly.”
Cole suddenly became very interested in the floor.
I smiled.
“I just want to remember exactly how that sounded.”
At noon, his mother arrived.
She took one look at the crews working outside.
“What on earth is going on?”
Cole sighed.
“Apparently, the driveway is my birthday present.”
His mother looked at me.
“Didn't he get you a Wi-Fi box for your birthday?”
“Extender,” I corrected.
“For the upstairs bedroom.”
His father started laughing.
“You bought your wife better buffering,” he said, “and she bought you a new driveway?”
Cole shook his head.
“That isn't the point.”
His father stopped laughing.
“Then what is the point?”
Nobody answered.
Then our seven-year-old son looked up from his cereal.
“Dad, you said the extender was for you when you watched the game upstairs last week.”
The room went completely silent and then something outside made everyone turn toward the window...
@erinislearning@orangebidders@Thetrilliumca@Vanessa_Sarges Wow what a coward you are Erin, blocking my ability to reply to you. I lost my old account and had to start a new one. Yes, they need doctors notes and documentation, obviously, which can easily be obtained. I live in Ontario and know exactly what I'm talking about.
@ShaziGoalie Every time I've been to this location, I seem to become extremely irritated. I haven't been in a few years (moved, thank you Jesus) and I'm not surprised it hasn't changed.
@Family_n_dogs@pie_kat@CP24 Police and firefighters are adequately funded so that they don't have to do that. They are also paid adequately for the services they provide. They also don't strike every year. Tradesman buy their own tools and they don't complain and they literally keep the province running.
@Family_n_dogs@pie_kat@CP24 These are all standard supplies that were once covered by the education system. If that is no longer the case, why is that? Like I said, teachers made this bed. Sleep in it.
@Family_n_dogs@pie_kat@CP24 Schools are funded to provide standard supplies to students; if teachers want supplies outside of that funding then yes, they should buy it themselves or maybe ask for more funding for supplies instead of outrageous pay raises. Ontario teachers made the bed they are in.
@Family_n_dogs@pie_kat@CP24 There's a fundemental difference between buying something for adults who don't actually NEED those things and buying things for children who do because teachers suck up so much funding There's nothing left for the kids. 🤷🏼♀️
