The reason why RAM has become four times more expensive is that a huge amount of RAM that has not yet been produced was purchased with non-existent money to be installed in GPUs that also have not yet been produced, in order to place them in data centers that have not yet been built, powered by infrastructure that may never appear, to satisfy demand that does not actually exist and to obtain profit that is mathematically impossible.
Anti trans policies would still be wrong if they only hurt trans people, but there are so few of us that most of the people hurt by these deeply silly laws aren't even trans.
@Fatesblind@JohnBarrowman@scottmale So we sacrifice people's freedom to commit to whom they want? Why not just limit marriage to Christians and ban interfaith marriages? Or go full theocracy and just mandate "faith-based views on family"?
it's kinda incredible that the meaning of "fantastic" has shifted so much that this moment no longer reads as "4 guys calling themselves mutants" and more like "Captain Jackass and the Self-Loathing Trio"
@WatchNebula I often watch Nebula creators' videos on YouTube because I'm already there — but I'd *prefer* to watch those on Nebula and would welcome the reminder and link.
You know what would be a great coding project for someone? A Chromium browser extension that adds a banner to the top of YouTube video pages linking directly to their counterparts on @WatchNebula (when such counterparts exist).
@WcnderFate@VitorAzambuja@belc8nt0 "'Problematic'? I think you mean 'thought-provoking' and 'morally challenging,' good sir!" (He posted with a weak laugh and apologetic shrug.)
@WcnderFate@VitorAzambuja@belc8nt0 I can definitely appreciate that. Fair play to my own biases: I was born in '73 and consumed a lot of '70s/'80s/'90s media where shock and moral gray were their own aesthetic reward. Not that problematic is invisible, but it often lands as a feature rather than a bug.
@WcnderFate Not to tramp down expectations, but "Wonder Woman" is the one of the three I've never revisited and was (moderately) disappointed with at the time. In fairness, though, some of that was my fault because I'd gone in with HIGH expectations.
@VitorAzambuja@WcnderFate@belc8nt0 ... but I'd say there's thoughtfulness and critique in those elements, as well — especially with regard to roles we're cast in and how much of our identity the expectations are within our control and outside of it. /2
@VitorAzambuja@WcnderFate@belc8nt0 The preceding DeMatteis run is one of my favorites (even moreso than the *excellent* Messner-Loebs run). I understand why those plot beats put people off and that they can be triggering to folks who've been adjacent to certain things in real life ... /1
@Grzechu89981240@J_Onaka The four-issue mini that kicks things off was Kent's last hurrah and sets up the Eric-and-Linda-Strauss version of Fate, who, along with Nabu, are the main characters of the ongoing.
