Former Chief of Police | Air Force Veteran National Trainer in Workplace Violence Prevention, Crisis Intervention & Veteran Response CEO, Secure Measures (DVBE)
De-escalation isn’t just about being calm.
It’s about controlling the pace, the space, and the outcome.
That’s a tactical skill — not a personality trait.
Workplace violence is rarely “random.”
It’s usually preceded by leakage, grievance, or behavioral shifts.
The failure isn’t surprise.
It’s missed signals.
Honored to attend & sponsor the @PolicingInst 2025 Annual Awards Reception celebrating excellence in law enforcement. 👏
Congrats to Chiefs Tom Manger & Terrence Cunningham on receiving top honors — well deserved for their leadership & service.

Thank You to our U.S. Veterans who proudly served & sacrificed so much defending our nation. A special thanks to our #LASD Veterans for their service and for continuing to serve the communities of the County of Los Angeles .
Veterans Mental Evaluation Team (VMET) has a new addition to it's Fleet!
The VMET staff are veterans themselves. They know the unique language and culture of all the Military branches, which is a huge help in reducing the time required to gain a veteran's trust.
MET has a new Training Facility in South County! We offer a variety of classes to law enforcement officers and dispatchers to aid with handling crisis situations, mental health awareness and veterans cultural awareness/PTSD.
