I get asked often about how I think about my role of CISO. At its most simplistic, I see the role of CISO as the person who straightens out the sine wave for their company/customers. I wrote a short post on it. Would love to hear feedback and thoughts!

I'm seeing a lot of my friends and people I respect tweet the news today about @riotgames and @niiicolo but missing a lot of context. These docs were filed publicly in court and posted internally for Rioters. I am sharing so you have all the info https://t.co/LqrPfAeyJS
Over the last week, we've noticed a lot of conversation about Vanguard and its kernel mode driver. Our privacy and security team is here to share more about the new anti-cheat system and the steps we're taking to protect your data. Learn more here: https://t.co/z8mrOS9B88
I had the opportunity to be interviewed recently by @Forbes on how @riotgames has handled the coronavirus pandemic and it’s impact on our players, company, and workforce. https://t.co/t328DbuzC2
This is a really creative idea that made me think about ways to improve #security and #dataprivacy behaviors. The Mumbai police and the punishing signal is a smart way to change ingrained behavior. Any ideas on how something like this can improve security? https://t.co/ypKQXjPYqJ
@0xButterSec @_glitchXR Not really. They would need to also contribute a lot on the security engineering front. We typically will use external companies to do full blown pen testing.

@bubblewire In security we work on very nebulous things that do not always lead to a feeling of completion. Physical labor and building things give the mind that satisfaction of completion. We all need that sometimes.
@teschulz 3. Incidents and some of the wave items I described occurred. This is where that trust comes in. We are willing at times to take a step backwards if it helps solidify our foundation. I would say in the beginning 25% was fires, 25% planning/socialization, 50% team building
@teschulz 2. Then empowered the team to say no and choose focus. Without that they are always fighting fires. We prioritized the most important items, presented to executive leadership and then shared with the org. Once we asked for the feedback and got commitment the team could focus.
