For 57 seasons #OpeningDay was revered as a holiday. A celebration of fans hope, tradition, and a pure love of the game.
For most Oakland A’s fans, this wasn’t just a team, it was a piece of our hearts.
And our hearts were ripped out without any regard, all because of one man’s greed and 29 other owners without a single set of balls.
To all the fans with a team, enjoy today…maybe start a “Let’s go Oakland” chant in our memory when the ATH’s hit your city…because FUCK John Fisher!
no more opening nights with dad at the coliseum, no more fireworks nights, no more right field bleachers, no more dream of taking my kids to see the A’s in Oakland. sad day
4 years ago this very day. @RobManfred you attended this game yourself. You witnessed firsthand the passion of the Oakland fanbase. Half the Coliseum land was sold to the A’s just like you demanded that day. The A’s belong in Oakland.
