THE VALUE OF EDUCATION! In recent weeks, I was in Dubai and Egypt. Throughout the journey, I picked up my laptop and worked, drafting legal documents, drafting legal grounds, making legal representation, and some applications. I made some money whilst doing that by just moving my fingers on my laptop. My wife was also on her laptop. She earned her degree at age 47 after raising our three children. I reflected on my life and decided to pursue a law degree after having two children. I worked at night and studied during the day. I paid my university and law school fees privately from my earnings and with my wife's support. Some people laughed at me, saying I was too old and that I might not get a job due to my age. I ignored them and forged ahead. I saw tomorrow ahead. Today, they are tired and retired, whilst I am enjoying my best years at the same age as them. Listen closely, education is not a scam, and your qualifications will start working when your friends who relied only on their strength and energy have become tired. Even if you don’t need the qualification now, have it regardless. Iwe maa n sise nigba to ba ti re alagbara (education starts working when the powerful people who rely on strength become tired. Business can collapse. Money can grow wings and fly away. One can become sick and be unable to move around, but one can work with one's brain. Your brain is the good part that no one can take from you. You can take your brain everywhere you go. It is not too late to be educated; do not abandon your education or your plans because you are making money today or because your friends are making money.
