Did you know that reading for 20 minutes a day can expose a child to over a million words in a year? Our Simunye Book Club is targeted at Simunye 3 learners (ages 9-11) to support their language and literacy development and to also foster a love for reading.
Our 4 Bake for Profit students began their 8 week course on the 17th of May. We have an enthusiastic group that are excited to learn how to bake and grow their business skills. Here students are learning how to make Jam Crumble Biscuits.
We also took the opportunity to introduce our Social Worker, Sanelisiwe Phewa and the Healthy Homes & Families program.
11 Parents attended the meeting, we are hoping this number continues to grow.
We had our first Simunye Afterschool Program Parent's Meeting for the year on the 15th of May 2021. Our parents were introduced to our theme for this year for Simunye, the Fruit of the Spirit.
This meeting also introduced the Farming Gardens pilot project as the team begins to teach the children how to start their own vegetable gardens using the Gardens of Faithfulness methods.
Itβs with deep sadness that we inform you that Jabulisile Dludla passed away on the 30 of May 2021. Her infectious laughter filled our passages,her compassionate heart & gift of evangelism led her to tell many about the love of Christ. Our prayers are with Jabuβs family & friends
Seed of Hope offers the Royal family and the Zulu nation our deepest condolences and prayers at the passing of Her Majesty Queen Mantfombi Dlamini-Zulu.

The Abaholi team completed the Undiluted Program training with Daniele Gradwell from the Pregnancy Help Network.
The Undiluted Program will form part of the Abaholi Bakusasa outreach programs for schools that we reach.
Simunye Afterschool programme would like to thank everyone who contributed to the #backtoschool campaign. Because of your support, we were able to give each student a stationery pack! They were handed out last week and there was lots of excitement.
