@credo__v Out of curiosity, what were the most common reasons applications didn’t make it through? And what did the selected candidates have that the others don’t?
If this was some leveraged play, I'd have sold months ago.
It's not cool, it's not sexy but slowly building out spot allocations throughout the bear was one of the best things for my trading (second only to paying myself out for life).
Don't lose sight of the goal.
Big PnL cards are great but the whole point of this trading thing is to financially fuck off forever.
What people consider a “good pullback” in a bear market is entirely different in a bull market.
Important food for thought over the next week (or two) imo.
“Market must pull back 20-30% before next leg because that’s how its been!”
No, it doesn’t have to do anything.
This is the part of the cycle where emotions, good & bad, run high.
You may find it helpful to minimize time on twitter, keep your brain free from noise, & stay focused on your trading.

it's getting quite thin up here
wouldn't be surprised by some discovery of price in the next 48hrs
My prediction:
- Announcement (approved) > price up
- Chop
- Start to sell off
- Sell off accelerates
- People celebrate "sell the news" thought process
- Media discusses some sort of failure/negative angle to the ETF approval uptake
- Buy as much BTC as you can
don’t try to overcompensate for your performance by zooming into lower timeframes
fast-paced, adrenaline-rush trading that you’re not comfy with, but feel like the market has given you no other choice
there’s a big difference between adapting to volatility, and forcing trades.
Good trading is all about being organised and prepared so you can take advantage of opportunities that may arise.
Just a few hours of preparation on the weekend can make a huge difference in how you perform during the week.
This is another long-form post about how I'm struggling to become a better trader and trying to improve my situation. You can make fun in the comments.
I'm posting it here because I'm definitely not the only one who might be struggling with this recently, feeling like they are the biggest losers that ever walked the earth and this post might help others or at least point to some points of introspection
Regardless, my results for the month of October/November are negative while the whole market pumped off their rocks. Always waiting for some arbitrary EMA touches or HTF level markings when I was trying to trade this on the 5min chart (as HTF offered no retests).
After trying to figure out what the fuck I am doing wrong and how the fuck am I taking Ls after Ls, I've come to realize that my entire approach was wrong. If I was trading on the 5min chart why the fuck am I looking at a 4h chart trying to pin levels and use high emas (100/200). But after literal years on just doing 4h charts, it's become second nature and inevitably I was drawn to the htf chart and seething when not getting the proper entries.
Anyway, the first thing I did that I saw after taking Ls was initially lock down all the accounts and fund a $3000 trading account, which I managed to successfully liquidate.
I've blown my accounts before and I realized that I had a problem, I didn't know what problem I had but I had a problem somewhere and I was literally spiralling both emotionally & financially (when I shouldn't be, but it's hard when everyone is making fat stacks and you're not).
While doing that, I also started going back to the gym because I was getting way too depressed about the entire situation I was in (I referenced this in a previous long form post). This has helped immensely when it came to 1) reduce the pain in my shoulder and 2) at least giving me a satisfaction that if my day was shit, at least I did something RIGHT
I also did some soulsearching and started to think why I couldn't put down risk & suffer any sort of drawdown and by admitting some unfortunate truths to myself about how stupid I played this year I started to look why I was so jumpy everytime I had even a 1-2% drawdown on a spot position.
My answer led me to the fact that I haven't done any massive withdrawals this year to the bank and the bank accounts were running low, so I thought I was basically too emotionally invested in things and couldn't afford to take any sort of risks as I was scared of suffering a drawdown on my larger accounts and I couldn't withdrawal enough money. So I did what any sane person would do and eliminated this problem by making a significant withdrawal to my bank account to secure a runway for the next year + add enough to a brokerage account.
I'm also thinking that a fresh look at a different market in which I am not emotionally invested or anchored to a specific price point could provide clean eyes. (I'll again reference here what @TraderMercury said about people caring because the asset is called BTC and not shitcoinA, but to care less it's harder than it is to say it)
Anyway after funding a new account and seeing that the account balance situation hasn't really improved, I started to look at what else I was doing wrong.
And I came out to indicator overload. I was taking Ls, so I started looking at OI, then OI + funding rates then OI + funding rates + CVD + EMAs + RSI + Aggr running the background. A classic rookie mistake now that I think about it, always adding complexity because "maybe if I add these things together, they would somehow work better)
In order to improve my trading, i've removed all the indicators from my charts except the Monday Range from @SpacemanBTC and the basic volume indicator.
When I had all my EMAs and Major levels marked on the charts I was always flipping between the timeframes, getting conflicting information and being very confused about what to do.
Had this "drive" to check everything and I either ended up with analysis paralysis and did nothing or just went at arbitrary levels on various timeframes to fit a certain bias.
So I just removed everything, no more stupid lines, no more OI, no aggr running in the background not understanding half what was going on. Who the fuck cares if the price is pumped by perps or spot when I'm sitting on the 5min chart.
Does it respect the pattern? Yes/No, if yes why should I care why the price is going up or down, the important thing is to smack it in the right direction according to where the price is going. Tight Stoplosses because if I'm trading intra hourly scalping on the 5min chart, the structure should be conductive on the same timeframe that I'm trading. Not trading on the 5min chart and looking if the 4h looks good, the fuck who cares. Another stupid rookie mistake entering trades on 1 TF and managing them on another TF.
Would I miss any sort of alpha those other tools provided? Maybe, but it sure as hell reduced complexity and reduced stress. So I'm willing to take a gamble and say that the wins & less fiddling around with shit would vastly prevent any fucksup from getting rolled over because price was pumped by perps and stop was dumping and I get hosed on a tight stop loss
So now we're going back to the basics, same tf support and resistance, tight stop losses and if it breaks market structure we fuck off.
Easy system should provide easier wins and tolerable losses. Would also free enough brain power to look at other things and not shit myself when something happens because I'm checking 25 things and just smack it in the direction that shit is happening. And this system works on all TFs as long as the charting & trading is done on the same timeframe, not managing a 1D chart trade on the 5min interval for whatever reason.
If you are also struggling with things, I hope that this post provided at least a few points where you could look and see if you aren't doing the same retarded shit that I was doing.
Anyway hope this helps someone.
