https://t.co/OOmSfqccE7 Excellent Q&A with @DrIbram. One thing I’m taking away is the call to fight for antiracist policies within my own sphere of influence, which for me includes banking, education, and law. Simple enough, right? 😬 #antiracist#learning#OneStepAtATime
Taking time on my lunch break to read another chapter of So You Want to Talk About Race by @IjeomaOluo. I love her direct yet compassionate writing style. I’m learning so much from her. Thank you for this gift!

Until recently, I ignorantly overlooked how much #RepresentationMatters. I see it now, and I’m working on a plan to bring incredible books like this one into our local classrooms. #antiracist#learning
Came across this article with 100 ways to support Native people. Good stuff well told. Thanks to @SimonMoyaSmith! #learning#antiracist https://t.co/AqhRzrJ83L
Thank you @TaranaBurke for letting people know about this. Sounds like a good idea on the surface, but we all must learn to listen. I hear you. Another example that good intentions are not good enough. #listening#learning#antiracist#JohnLewis
2. If you don’t want everything to be about race, then find the disparity in your realm (i.e. education, housing, banking, etc.) and address that disparity. 3. Recognize when an opinion becomes a campaign.
So much more packed in that 45 minutes. Go listen!
Just watched a fb live from July 11 with @vthenoble1 that made me stop and think multiple times. 1. Do people really want freedom of speech or do they want freedom from consequence? (big difference!)
I recently finished the book #WhiteFragility by Robin DiAngelo. In my opinion, it’s a great place to start #antiracist learning. White people must understand their fragility in order to see past it. But don’t let this be your only resource. #unlearningwhitesupremacy#readbipoctoo
White people can get really defensive about privilege. Having white privilege doesn’t mean your life hasn’t been difficult. It just means your race hasn’t been a factor in those difficulties. #whitefragility#whiteprivilege#antiracist#learning
Just got my copy of #antiracistbaby, and it’s everything. That’s what I love about children’s books- breaking down complex topics into easily understood concepts. Good jumping off point for convos with grandparents too...
I just popped into a store to grab a couple things, one of them being a cooler, which I then used as a shopping bag. It struck me that if I was not white, I probably wouldn’t feel safe doing this for fear of being accused of shoplifting. #WhitePrivilege#learning#itseverywhere
More than 1,000 employees at the CDC have signed a letter calling for the agency to address "ongoing and recurring acts of racism and discrimination" against Black employees.
It also calls for the CDC to declare racism a public health crisis in the U.S.

One of the first things I’ve learned is the hardest to stomach, but it’s an important starting point. We are all racist. You can’t grow up under white supremacy and not be.
