@socfemoz@SVPhillimore I’ve been in the position of fleeing an abusive marriage with small children. Finding a *place of safety* was my very highest priority and also responsibility. That was at the forefront of my mind at this my most vulnerable moment.
A women’s DV refuge should not accommodate men.
Last year, over 1,000 girls were mutilated on the NHS.

Brilliant from Michael Deacon -

Still, whatever the truth, my own family won’t be needing any assistance of this kind. Because, just in case I’m ever randomly murdered in the street by a failed asylum seeker, I’ve already prepared a statement for them. It reads as follows.
“We, the family of Michael Deacon, are naturally disappointed to learn of his untimely beheading. But one thing distresses us even more. And that’s the thought that this unfortunate incident might in some way be used to criticise our nation’s beloved Prime Minister.
The fact is that Michael’s death is definitely not the fault of the Government’s suicidally lax approach to border control, or its fanatical commitment to prioritising the interests of people from any country on Earth except our own. Michael himself was always the first to remind everyone that diversity is our strength, that Britain was built by immigrants, and that Our NHS cannot survive unless our superiors allow an endless deluge of mysterious men from extremely dangerous countries to be accommodated at tax-payer expense next to your local primary school.
We therefore ask Nigel Farage not to politicise this completely unavoidable tragedy by making irresponsible and divisive calls for something to be done to prevent it from happening again. Instead, he and indeed everyone else in Britain should respect our wishes by carrying on as if nothing has happened, thus ensuring that this politically inconvenient event is helpfully forgotten, at least until the next one.
Vote Labour.”
@Jebadoo2@ScotsLawyer Strange he describes himself as a secular atheist yet he believes in a magical gendered 'essence' which can only be known to the individual and renders them so special that they don't have to follow social norms or the law.
I lost my beloved daughter Grace O’Malley-Kumar in the Nottingham attacks. She was a 19 year old medical student. She fought a marauding man almost twice her age armed with a dagger. She tried to protect a friend and paid the ultimate price. She placed,

Interesting to see Andy Burnham saying only “quite a small minority” of people take the position that males should not be in women’s single-sex spaces.
Even in 2022, when he said these words, public opinion was shifting in favour of women’s right to single-sex spaces. Now it’s a substantial majority view.
He needs to be challenged about his positions on sex and gender issues throughout this campaign. Replacing Starmer with Burnham looks like a retrograde step in some respects. And in other respects like no change at all. Someone whose positions change with the wind.
@MaeveHalligan at the Cambridge Union.
Maeve is one of the bravest people I know. The amount @CUSocOfWomen has gone through simply to exist, organise, and speak openly is unreal.
At the beginning of this year, I could barely exist in Cambridge normally. I was too scared to go into the city centre alone, eat in my dining hall, go to lectures, the gym, anything.
I am now almost completely immune to it. A huge part of that is down to Maeve’s strength. To watch her tonight was huge.
When people with penises stop using their genitalia as weapons of sexual violence, we’ll stop being obsessed with keeping them out of places where we’re easy prey
Meet Ifhat Shaheen, she is a Green Party candidate in Hackney. She has shared conspiracy theories online, including a suggestion that Israel was harvesting Palestinians’ organs “to help alter DNA of Zionists to claim land.”
Although the Greens have pledged to root out antisemitism, she remains a candidate in this borough which has the second largest Jewish population in the country.
I’m told she was personally picked by both @ZackPolanski and @ZoeGarbett who wants to be mayor of Hackney. Perhaps they could comment.
Did they handpick a conspiracy theorist as a candidate? Who would vote for that?
