@shroomychrist What they believed was the right way to be there for Toby. I had neither. My mom was an addict with severe untreated childhood trauma herself and abandoned me when I was only 7. My dad was always absent emotionally, thinking money solved the emotional distance.

@shroomychrist I have. Honestly Brn put a lot of thought into this and how to navigate BLOODMONEY and HEP. Speaking as a parent, I understand the why but do not condone it. It’s still selfish what Eun-mi did, as she put Toby’s emotional stability at risk.

Regarding stability. It is also clear she associates money with love due to her own upbringing. Harvey, on the other hand, is trying to govern Toby the love he never received as a kid, and wants Toby to have at least one emotionally available parent.
