But why is it unreasonable for Angel to be offended? And put her on the jumbo

If you refer to someone by something other than their name, regardless of your intent, don’t they have the right to decide whether it bothered them?

If I told Robin he “needs sunscreen,” that phrase might be harmless where I’m from, but in his world it could carry a completely different meaning.

My intent wouldn’t change how he received it. If he felt disrespected, I’d have to own that. We don’t get to decide how someone else interprets our words when we could simple just call them by name
