[StudentenergyFunaab @sefunaab]

You don’t need to start big to create impact.
Showing up, lending your strength, and standing with the movement is enough to rewrite the future.

Join the Clean-Up.
Be the difference.
Be the movement.

#WorldCleanupDay

[StudentenergyFunaab @sefunaab]

The world’s biggest clean-up happened yesterday—and we at Student Energy FUNAAB made it count! 🌍✨

We took to Kuto Park to exercise the event, joining hands with our community to restore hope, protect the environment, and show that young people can lead real change. #ZeroWaste

[StudentenergyFunaab @sefunaab]

For some, it was just another day.
For us, it was a chance to rise up, take action, and leave a mark that matters.

This isn’t only about picking plastic bottles or sweeping dirt.
It’s about proving that every small effort creates a cleaner, brighter tomorrow.

[StudentenergyFunaab @sefunaab]

💡 Join the Movement
• Pick up litter around campus or your neighborhood.
• Reduce single-use plastics in your daily routine.
• Educate a friend about responsible waste management.

Every small action adds up to a cleaner planet and a stronger community.

Student Energy Launches Power Conservation Campaign at FUNAAB

By Raymond Osemene

A group of passionate students under the banner of STUDENT ENERGY, a global non-profit organisation, is set to champion energy conservation at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB). The FUNAAB chapter of the organisation has outlined a mission to reduce electricity wastage in lecture halls, hostels and offices while raising awareness about the importance of energy efficiency.

The Chapter’s President, Mr. Daniel Adeyemi, a 400Level, student of the Department of Environmental Management and Toxicology (EMT), College of Environmental Resources Management (COLERM), stated that the campaign seeks to encourage both staff and students to conserve energy by switching off bulbs, fans, air conditioners, and other electrical appliances when not in use, particularly in academic and administrative spaces.

According to Mr. Adeyemi, the initiative was aimed at supporting FUNAAB’s sustainability efforts and reinforcing its commitment to environmental responsibility. He added that it was to foster a culture of energy consciousness, leading to long-term behavioural changes among students and staff, including a drastic reduction in electricity costs by curbing unnecessary power consumption.
