Now that @MayorBowser has named an Interim Inspector General, when will the IG’s Office release its report on @DCPoliceDept crime data manipulation? The Office had refused to release it because the IG position was vacant. @nbcwashington@paulcwagner
Here’s @Commanders statement:
“We are in the early stages of planning a PSL program..use of PSLs for construction was included in the deal. we are committed to a thoughtful approach that balances long-term investment … with opportunities for fans at a variety of price points”
This is $975 Million dollars the @councilofdc and @MayorBowser gave to @Commanders in addition to the other public funding. Quick math puts avg seat licensing $15K per seat paid by fans who want season tickets. @nbcwashington

Interesting: Events D.C. is selling the rights to the estimated 65,000 seats in the new Commanders stadium to the team for a max price of $975 million (but it could be lower). The team will them be able to sell personal seat licenses to fans to cover construction costs.
Here’s the most recent data on gun shot victims in DC overall and juvenile, from @DCPoliceDept Nearly every category shows a decline. Except the chance of dying from a gun shot wound if you’re a teen is 25% higher today than in 2023. @nbcwashington
Basically, D.C. is moving to clarify the speeding ranges that get you certain fines. Currently, anything from 11-15 mph over the speed limit is a $100 fine. But @DDOTDC wants to change it to "more than 10 mph" up to 15. Minor wording change, significant impact.
UPDATE: Sorry to be the bearer of tough news, but D.C. is moving to close the loophole of sorts that a local attorney managed to use to successfully challenge a speeding ticket he got. Read on for the nerdy details.
Historic and in need of support. Woodlawn Cemetery in Southeast DC is the resting place of more than 36,000 Washingtonians.

The @washingtonpost Metro section still does tremendous work. But here’s another example of WaPo showing its diminishing connection to local DC and institutional knowledge. No mention, not one sentence about local guitar legend @nilslofgren in this review. https://t.co/s8pVd7IviD
Once again @washingtonpost proves it is NOT the local paper of record. Referring to the @councilofdc as a “city council” DC is a federal district not a city within a state. While forgivable when used in casual conversation, it’s not acceptable for a newspaper.
"The city’s likely next mayor could end up a very effective leader if she builds on this pivot and abandons her worst instincts," the Editorial Board writes. https://t.co/3KJPF9RGWI
New-the United States Park Police confirm to @nbcwashington officers were chasing a stolen car last night when a moped driver was struck and killed by the driver of the fleeing vehicle on the Taft bridge.
My last byline for The Washington Post. Some time off, then back to local DC coverage at a new place. I will always be grateful to The Post for taking a chance on me and helping me grow. Please support my colleagues who are still there, doing great work

A D.C.-based attorney spent three years fighting a $100 ticket he got from a speed camera in the city. He eventually won in D.C.'s highest court on a novel legal technicality, and thousands of other drivers could end up benefitting from it: https://t.co/r9GMBu1Ba6
