Another proud moment for academic excellence! 🔥
Eze Bryan has emerged as the winner of the National Economics Olympiad.
He will proudly represent Nigeria at the International Economics Olympiad in China.
SCHOOL IS NOT SCAM.
We captured this beautiful moment of Chimdiebube Onwubiko arriving in Enugu yesterday to a hero's welcome.
He won a gold medal at the International STEM Olympiad Grand Finale in Rome.
I love seeing education reclaim its rightful place in our society.
This is just the beginning of something great.
The wait is over.
We have 2 golds: Chimdiebube Onwubiko and Don Anele Munachimso.
We are the best in the world!
Egejurum Onyedikachi’s name was omitted. He should have a gold.
She was just 26 years old.
An investigative journalist, she reported from the front lines of Colombia's armed conflict, telling the stories others were too afraid to pursue.
Then, one day, paramilitaries intercepted her outside a prison.
What followed was hours of unimaginable brutality.
When they were finished, they abandoned her on a lonely road outside Bogotá.
She reported the crime.
The investigation languished for more than a decade.
She refused to be silenced.
She kept reporting.
In 2003, she was kidnapped again.
Held captive for five days.
Released.
She returned to journalism once more.
Still refusing to surrender.
In 2011, she took her case against Colombia to the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights.
A decade later, on October 18, 2021, history was made.
The court ruled that the Colombian state was responsible for failing to protect her and for the violence used to silence her.
It was the first time a government had been held internationally responsible for violence committed to silence a woman journalist.
But she didn't stop there.
She transformed her pain into a movement.
She founded #NoEsHoraDeCallar "It's Not Time to Stay Silent."
Because she found the courage to speak, hundreds of thousands of women across Latin America found the courage to tell their own stories.
The landmark ruling became a powerful legal precedent, strengthening protections for women journalists throughout the region.
The United Nations later named her a Global Ambassador in the fight against conflict-related sexual violence.
Her name is Jineth Bedoya Lima.
She didn't just survive an attempt to silence her.
She changed history so that others would never have to suffer in silence.
You said frying akara and selling kuli kuli is the best option for your kids.
Your neighbour said no! That his kids deserve better and invested in their education, today that investment has landed the kids in global competition in Rome.
Now, you're gnashing teeth and planning evil for your neighbour because he didn't take your kids to Rome alongside his.
But, if your kids are pulled out from the neighborhood; who will now fry akara and sell kuli kuli to the kids of your neighbours on their return from Rome?
