In Uganda we have normalised corruption. Corruption is slso being entrenched trough threating government with penalties if corruption/bad agreements are terminated. Corruption is now embedded in almost every system..

1. Joint Stock Company Global Security (JSCGS) signed a contract to produce smart number plates but ended up producing ordinary number plates worse than what was being produced by Wavamuno at more than 5 times the cost. Ugandans have been cheated in broad day light as if government had no capacity to verify such. Agents of corruption are hiding in legal jargons that this agreement should not be terminated despite the fact that the number plates are not smart.
2. Contractors sign road contracts with clear specifications but end up producing roads with inferior specifications and it's ok.
3. Government medicine is sold in the open market and its ok.
4. A Smart ID Card should contain a durable polycarbonate body, a microchip with encrypted personal and biometric data, and several visual and digital security features. So if at all Uganda National IDs are smart why should they expire? At times corruption is embedded in the laws. A national ID expires every 10 years so that some one is able to get billions of shillings to produce new IDs. Did you know that despite the expiry date of the old IDs, they are still being used and the new ones have issues?
5. Ordinary Ugandans lose their land due to ownership changing hands without their knowledge because some rich Ugandan has paid a bribe to acquire the land and it's ok..
6. A judge disregards all evidence including valid declaration forms and goes ahead to declare a loser as a duly elected Member of Parliament and it's ok?
7. Counterfeit goods including drinks and food stuffs are being sold on the open market and some of these are the leading causes of cancer and it's ok because the manufacturer/supplier paid a bribe...etc etc etc.

We need a complete reset. Our Motto "For God and My Country" no longer makes sense. Even some of the prominent thieves are allegedly people perceived to be close to God including some pastors.
