For Mark’s FIRST ever directed movie, I gotta say this was fucking phenomenal
I’m amazed he managed to make a 2hr movie that was filmed 95% inside a small, enclosed rust bucket visually interesting and engaging the whole way through
Direction, tension, sound design, music, all of it was top notch. There was some moments where it was hard to hear voices, sound mixing was a bit off, but mostly well done
Unfortunately, there definitely was some awkward acting scenes and lines that kinda drew me out of the immersion. But there were equally moments where you could really see Mark locking tf in, especially in the second half
Troy Baker, Elsie Lovelock, and the other supporting cast did GREAT
I can see how the overall plot can be confusing for some, it’s definitely vague and up for interpretation, but IMO that’s what I actually LOVED about it. It truly felt alien, good cosmic horror. Gives you enough base info to work with and theorize from there. I was on the edge of my seat near the entire time. Quality thriller content
Both directing AND being the main role in your first movie probably wasn’t easy, and the acting was a little spotty sometimes, but overall…
SOLID 8/10. I can see this being the start of a genuine career in movie direction for Mark (although acting wise, I need to see more of)
Good stuff brother. Good stuff
