Me loving Clayface is an understatement. As someone who loves 80s/90s horror thrillers, this was right up my alley. Tom Rhys Harries is absolutely stellar as Matt Hagen, and that nightclub sequence? FOR THE AGES. Man, I loved this film. #Clayface
#Clayface feels like an 80s/90s romantic horror thriller and I absolutely loved it. Tom Rhys Harries is a revelation, making Matt Hagen so likeable that his tragedy hits even harder. Gnarly, gory, gloriously bonkers. This is the kind of comic book cinema I want more of! loved it!
2nd movie of the day after watching the truly fantastic #Clayface. Sometimes you just need a me day! Reviews have been pretty terrible, but itโs got Jessica Chastain and, well, itโs horror. Thatโs enough for me to give it a shot. ๐ #OtherMommy
Bavuma has turned South Africa into such a gritty, fighting Test side, with players for all conditions. They may lack the charisma & marketing of the big sides, but a WTC title, a win in IND & this fightback in the 2nd Test make a strong case for them being the best around. #SAvAUS
Not gonna lie, this tri-series is making me fall in love with cricket ๐ again, just a little. Didnโt think Iโd say that, but here we are.. #Cricket#ENGvSL
I have never understood this behaviour. People work for the team and then throw players under the bus as soon as they leave. It is highly unethical. Next time you are a selector or coach, do you really expect players to trust you enough to share their genuine problems?
Factors due to which Tests are getting short (resharing from my post in 2024).
1) The batting stocks in Test cricket are getting low because, due to T20 cricket, batters are working more on shots and less on defence.
2) Players are not finding enough time to play first-class cricket, and the budding cricketers are building their game which suits more to T20 cricket [to become more successful in franchise cricket]. The skill of occupying the crease is dwindling down.
3) Due to packed schedules and proliferation of T20 leagues, side matches, as a warmup to Test series, are gradually decreasing. That means most batters enter a Test match without any recent experience of red ball cricket.
4) Decision Review System is helping bowlers. The marginal LBW calls that used to go in favour of batters are now being given out.
5) Pitches have become more result oriented because draws are considered boring and bad for the game (unless closely fought). For example, some pitches in Pakistan in the recent years came under scrutiny for being too batting friendly. Such pitches were a norm in the previous century.
The claim that this is the worst Pakistan team in 50 years comes from a writer who recently wrote about the lack of crowds in Tests in the Caribbean, arguing that people donโt have the time to attend them. And then in the same article, he advocated for five-match Test series.
Thatโs the level intelligence behind this opinion. Sadly, some Pakistanis have joined the chorus simply because the criticism appeared in the โforeignโ media.
Some of the opinions have been far too condescending towards Pakistan.
@SajSadiqCricket I know we have played some seriously poor cricket in the last couple of years but can we stop with the negativityโฆ itโs getting cumbersome & exhausting. Letโs at least try to be positive. Crazier things have happened in sport, especially this crazy game.
To be honest,PAK had plenty of opportunities to secure a win in their last Test series against AUS. It was some loopy captaincy, an inability to take the initiative, & repeatedly letting Australia off the hook that ultimately resulted in a 3-0 defeat. BAN seized their opportunities,we didnโt.
The way Babar is playing, it will come sooner rather than later. He seems to have got his confidence back after it was shattered into pieces, and he looked a shadow of his former self. But in the past couple of months, he is looking like the player we want him to be. Still a long way to go, but the signs are there.
