Anyway glad I got to write this out, if at least for myself, because I had so many thoughts about this. This also connects a lot to the 'it's endless' scene later in act 2, but I might write that out in another thread. Anyway, point is, TJ-sensei is a genius.

@BonkersJah the framing of every scene is important. I try to dig into that, and ask myself, 'what did the author want us to see here?', 'why include this particular panel or reaction?', and 'why is this character acting this particular way?' +

@nagarebohoshi That complexity is what makes him so fascinating and real, I can't think of characters that can quite make me feel the way both Miyuki and Eijun do. +

And naturally, this all influenced their interactions with each other. They were both deeply affected and unlike themselves after the Ichidai game, and I don't blame them one bit.

The fact that Eijun overheard Furuya and Miyuki's conversation right after the game where Miyuki finally called him his partner again, which made him feel like what he always wanted was finally in his grasp, only for reality to come crashing down immediately after. +
