Aujourd’hui, j’ai eu le plaisir d’accueillir la mission d’observation électorale de la Francophonie conduite par Philippe Courard (🇧🇪).
Nous avons échangé sur le déroulement de la campagne électorale ainsi que sur les questions liées au processus électoral. J’ai réaffirmé l’engagement ferme de l’🇦🇲 à garantir le libre exercice des droits électoraux de ses citoyens et à assurer la tenue d’élections libres, équitables, transparentes et conformes aux principes démocratiques.
Nous avons également abordé d’autres sujets d’intérêt commun.

Good to meet with Mr. Nicolae Ștefănuță, Vice-President of the @Europarl_EN, on the sidelines of the #IPU152 Assembly in #Istanbul.
We discussed strengthening cooperation between the National Assembly of Armenia and the European Parliament, #Armenia–#EU relations, ongoing democratic reforms & upcoming parliamentary elections in Armenia, as well as peace with #Azerbaijan & recent regional developments.
I also drew attention to the issue of the #Armenian detainees held in Azerbaijan, & the matter of missing persons.

Within the framework of the #IPU152 Assembly in #Istanbul, I had an exchange with the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, @NumanKurtulmus.
I welcomed my colleague’s recent proposal, voiced during his meeting with the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, to include #Armenia in the #Türkiye–#Georgia–#Azerbaijan format, as a step toward promoting #peace, #stability & #prosperity in our region.
We also discussed further details related to advancing this initiative.

On 17 April 2026, on the sidelines of the #IPU152 in #Istanbul, I met with @Speaker_Az Ms. Sahiba Gafarova.
We noted with satisfaction the recent progress in the normalization of relations between our countries, including efforts to strengthen #peace, stability, & expand trade ties.
We highlighted the important role of the @IPUparliament as a platform for interparliamentary cooperation & expressed appreciation to Secretary General @MartinChungong for his efforts in facilitating dialogue.
We also welcomed the renewed contacts between our parliamentary delegations since our meeting in Geneva in October 2025 & agreed to continue this engagement.
Constructive parliamentary dialogue remains key to building trust between our societies.

Addressed the #IPU152 Assembly in #Istanbul on “Nurturing Hope, Securing Peace and Ensuring Justice for Future Generations”.
Following the 2025 agreement, #peace with #Azerbaijan has taken hold — a historic step that opens the way for trust, cooperation, & tangible progress for our peoples.
#Armenia remains committed to consolidating this peace, advancing dialogue, & turning it into real opportunities on the ground. We also believe humanitarian issues must be addressed to achieve genuine reconciliation.
We stand ready to deepen regional partnerships, including with #Türkiye, & to build a future where stability, connectivity, & shared prosperity prevail.
