Doctors, nurses, and other healthcare workers in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district staged a protest on Saturday, August 29, wearing black badges to condemn the alleged assault on a medical team at Chawangkining village on August 27. They also demanded stronger security for healthcare personnel working in conflict-sensitive areas.

There is zero proof or real police inquiry, but the Kuki-Zo were blamed right away for the killings between Makui and Thanamba. We know this trick. When three Kuki-Zo pastors were murdered, the other side lied and claimed we killed our own people. Now, when someone gets killed on a road full of different armed groups fighting for control, they ignore the chance of factional fighting and put the blame on us.
The IT Road has had rival armed groups fighting over illegal tax gates and money for years. Blaming the Kuki-Zo without facts is just dirty politics. It is used to hide how those same check gates cut off food and medicine to Kuki villages for months, and to pit the Nagas and Kukis against each other.
#TheHillJournal : The protest came two days after a medical team travelling from Kangpokpi towards PHC T. Waichong under security escort was allegedly intercepted and assaulted by a mob at Chawangkining.

Those poor idiots in Manipur screaming for NRC will be the first to suffer the consequences if it ever actually gets implemented.
If you honestly believe only “the people you hate” will get targeted, I’m sorry — you’re an idiot who has zero understanding of how Indian bureaucracy works.
Kukis will accept an NRC only when it is implemented for the entire nation. Note carefully: Manipur is not a nation. It has no special rights or unique circumstances that justify a state-level NRC.
The draft SIR — the so-called “backdoor NRC” — already failed to exclude any of these mythical “illegal migrants” in Manipur. Do we really believe Meiteis will quietly accept the results of a proper NRC if it doesn’t deliver the outcome they want? Of course not.
Meitei leaders should teach their people how to work hard and earn an honest living instead of endlessly protesting a government they themselves run in a state they completely control. It’s like watching a man protesting against his own penis.
All these frantic NRC demands being pushed by Meitei leadership are nothing more than a desperate attempt to sabotage the 2027 Census. They know the next delimitation will be based on that census — and they know they will lose their majority in the assembly. So rather than face reality, they keep exploiting their own people’s fears for the dumbest political reasons.

📢 #BREAKING⚡️
SFs have arrested NIA's most wanted Meitei Terrorist Commander involved in the ambush & cold blooded killing of Col Viplav Tripathi (CO 46 AR), his wife, their 6 year old son & 4 Indian soldiers.
PLA & Manipur Naga Revolutionary Front killed Col Tripathi & his entire family in retaliation for his relentless "War on Drugs" campaign & successful Operations in crippling the lucrative Narco-Trafficking rings & black-market weapons smuggling corridors along the Indo-Myanmar Border, which were severely choking the primary revenue streams of these Naga & Meitei Terrorist networks.
🟢 Day 23/30 — “Resuming bus services to create an illusion of peace in Manipur while the Biren Singh audio remains unresolved is pure hypocrisy.”
Bus on the road does not automatically mean peace has returned. Resuming services while serious questions surrounding the Biren Singh audio remain unresolved cannot erase the demand for truth and accountability. Normalcy must be built on justice not appearances.
30 Days. One Demand.
Let the truth be tested.

Day 23/30: Do not mistake movement for reconciliation. A few buses travelling between places cannot by themselves repair years of fear, distrust and suffering. The Biren Singh audio controversy remains a serious unanswered issue. Let the truth be established transparently.

@iRoopmati, Please stop overworking your ChatGPT just to broadcast your ignorance & parade your stupidity.
1) The original passage from Dr George Watt's 1887 paper "The Aboriginal Tribes of Manipur" is not a vague claim about "the Nagas" as a monolith. It is specifically about the Tangkhul Nagas of Manipur.
The author & the text refers to "Tangkhul villages," the village of Khongui, hereditary chiefs of the Tankhuls, comparison with the Kaupuis (Kabuis) & memorial platforms outside Tangkhul villages.
▪︎● In Verrier Elwin's The Nagas in the Nineteenth Century (1969), the passage is placed under the heading "The Tangkhul Nagas by R. Brown" in the chapter "XII THE NAGAS OF MANIPUR."
It is a specific ethnographic note about the Tangkhuls. So, Your "all Muslims are the same" analogy does not apply here because the source itself is tribe-specific.
2) Verrier Elwin's "The Nagas in the Nineteenth Century" is not limited to NEFA (Arunachal) or the Tuensang Frontier Division. It is an anthology of 19th Century colonial writings about the Naga groups across the broader region (Assam, Naga Hills, Manipur etc).
The book's own table of contents includes an entire chapter titled "XII THE NAGAS OF MANIPUR" with these sections:
▪︎The Nagas of Manipur by George Watt.
▪︎Kowpoi (Kabui) Naga Festivals and Dances by R. Brown.
▪︎The Koupuis (Kabuis) of Manipur by E.T Dalton.
The Tangkhul Nagas by R. Brown.
▪︎A Tour among the Tangkhuls by J. Johnstone.
Elwin deliberately compiled material on the Manipur Nagas, including the Tangkhuls.
▪︎ Claiming that any posthumous reference to Elwin must be limited to NEFA or that including Tangkhuls is "wild imagination" is simply lazy & completely wrong. The book exists, the section is clearly labelled & the Tangkhul material is there.
3) Regarding Meitei cannibalism, You can question the weight of a confession or the final court outcome but you cannot honestly claim the incident "lacks merit" when the police case, the court production & the detailed confession exist in the public record.
@iRoopmati, Stop embarrassing yourself. The sources are cited, the specific page numbers are given & the text is right there in black & white. Read them. Actually read them. Analyse them instead of feeding half-baked nonsense into ChatGPT & pretending it's "research". If reading is too hard for you, get someone literate to do it on your behalf before you open your mouth again & make an even bigger fool of yourself.
🚨 JUSTICE DELAYED IS JUSTICE DENIED — THE BIREN SINGH AUDIO TAPES MUST NOT BE FORGOTTEN 🚨
The alleged audio recordings involving former Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh raise extremely serious questions that cannot simply be pushed aside or left unresolved. The recordings have been the subject of forensic examination and dispute, but the people of Manipur deserve a clear, transparent and conclusive determination of their authenticity.
These are not matters that should be dismissed casually as “Artificial Intelligence” or ignored without a proper examination of the original recordings, source material, metadata, devices and all available forensic evidence. The alleged recordings contain serious claims that, if authenticated, could have enormous implications for accountability during the Manipur conflict.
We therefore make an urgent appeal to the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, NIA, CBI and all competent investigating authorities: do not allow this matter to disappear through delay. Conduct an independent, impartial and scientifically rigorous investigation and place the truth before the people.
If the tapes are genuine, those responsible for any wrongdoing must face the law. If they have been manipulated, that fact must also be established beyond doubt. Either way, the truth must come out.
The Kuki community and all peace-loving citizens of Manipur are demanding justice, accountability and transparency. Justice must not depend on political influence, public pressure or prolonged delay.
HON’BLE SUPREME COURT OF INDIA — WE URGE YOU TO ENSURE THAT THE TRUTH IS ESTABLISHED AND JUSTICE IS DELIVERED.
JUSTICE DELAYED IS JUSTICE DENIED.
TRUTH MUST PREVAIL.
ACCOUNTABILITY MUST FOLLOW.
JUSTICE MUST BE DONE AND MUST BE SEEN TO BE DONE.

When Historians map out the birth of Indian Nationalism, the Sepoy Mutiny of 1857—often termed the 𝐅𝐈𝐑𝐒𝐓 𝐖𝐀𝐑 𝐎𝐅 𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄—invariably takes center stage. It planted the ideological seeds that would later bloom into massive non-violent movements led by figures like #𝐌𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐦𝐚𝐆𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐡𝐢 as well as militant campaigns spearheaded by radical Leaders like 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐣𝐢 #𝐒𝐮𝐛𝐡𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐁𝐨𝐬𝐞. Yet, far away from the bustling political centers of #Delhi and #Kolkata, the hilly terrains of #NortheastIndia were witnessing their own fierce resistance against the #British Empire. Deep within the forests of present-day #Manipur, the ethnic #Kuki Community was waging a relentless battle for sovereignty, a history that remains largely overlooked in mainstream accounts of India’s struggle for freedom.
Long before Colonial Forces pushed into the region, the #Kuki people lived as an independent Community across their ancestral Hill territories, governing their own Lands as documented in early historical surveys like 𝐒𝐢𝐫 𝐆.𝐀. 𝐆𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐎𝐍'𝐒 𝙇𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙪𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙘 𝙎𝙪𝙧𝙫𝙚𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙄𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙖. This self-contained autonomy faced an existential challenge as #British imperial power consolidated across the subcontinent during the Nineteenth and early Twentieth Centuries. The tension finally reached a flashpoint during 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐋𝐃 𝐖𝐀𝐑-𝐈, when Colonial Authorities attempted to force #Kuki Men into the #ImperialLabourCorps to serve on #European battlefields in #France. Refusing to serve as forced labor for a foreign empire, #Kuki Chiefs and Warriors chose instead to defend their freedom on their own soil.
From 𝟏𝟗𝟏𝟕 𝐭𝐨 𝟏𝟗𝟏𝟗, #Kuki fighters used their deep knowledge of the rugged forest terrain to wage a relentless #guerrilla campaign against imperial forces. Recorded in British military chronicles—such as 𝐂𝐎𝐋𝐎𝐍𝐄𝐋 𝐋.𝐖. 𝐒𝐇𝐀𝐊𝐄𝐒𝐏𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐄’𝐬 '𝙃𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘼𝙨𝙨𝙖𝙢 𝙍𝙞𝙛𝙡𝙚𝙨' and 𝐌𝐀𝐉𝐎𝐑 𝐆𝐄𝐍𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐋 𝐃.𝐊. 𝐏𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐓’𝐬 '𝙎𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙡𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙉𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙩'—as the "𝐊𝐔𝐊𝐈 𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐆," and locally remembered as the #AngloKukiWar, this conflict tied down thousands of #British and Colonial troops for three grueling years. When imperial forces eventually suppressed the uprising in 1919, the #British retaliated with severe measures: destroying Villages, exiling prominent Chiefs, and imprisoning freedom fighters in remote detention centers at #Sadiya and the infamous #CellularJail in the #AndamanIslands. Decades later, the historical weight of this conflict gained international recognition when the #UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office formally acknowledged the 1917–1919 war in an official Letter to the 𝐊𝐔𝐊𝐈 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐂𝐇 𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐔𝐌, expressing regret over the loss of lives and property during those military operations.
This fierce desire for self-determination did not die in the #Andaman Prisons. When 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐋𝐃 𝐖𝐀𝐑-𝐈𝐈 swept across #Asia, it brought a second opportunity to strike at colonial rule. In 1942, as #MahatmaGandhi launched the #QuitIndiaMovement across the Nation, Netaji #SubhasChandraBose re-organized the #AzadHindFauj, or #IndianNationalArmy, to launch an armed liberation campaign from India’s Eastern Frontier. #Kuki Veterans and Warriors, eager to strike back at the Empire that had crushed their revolt a generation earlier, recognized a direct alignment in Netaji’s vision and joined the ranks of the #INA alongside their #Manipur neighbors.

#Manipur:
The announcement by #Manipur_Chief_Minister_Yumnam_Khemchand_Singh regarding handing over the case of six missing Naga villagers to the NIA has once again raised serious questions among the people regarding equal justice and impartiality in Manipur.
Yumnam Khemchand Singh, who belongs to the Meitei community, has shown immediate concern and urgency regarding the missing Naga villagers. While every missing civilian deserves justice and investigation, the silence over the fate of the #14_Kuki_civilians allegedly held captive by Kacha-Naga Tangkhul groups and SDSA is deeply painful and disturbing.
The people are asking:
Why is there strong action and attention for one community, while the suffering of Kuki civilians continues to be ignored?
The Kuki community has already endured immense pain and trauma during the ongoing ethnic conflict in Manipur. The world witnessed horrifying incidents where Kuki women were paraded naked and sexually assaulted, shocking the conscience of humanity. Yet, despite such brutal violence and repeated incidents against Kuki civilians, justice remains slow and selective.
If the government can demand NIA investigation for six missing villagers, why is there no equal urgency for the safe return and investigation into the disappearance and captivity of the 14 Kuki civilians?
Justice must never depend on community, tribe, or political pressure. Every innocent civilian matters equally.
The Government of India, NIA, and Manipur Government must immediately:
• Launch a transparent investigation into the missing and captive Kuki civilians.
• Ensure equal treatment for all communities.
• Reveal the whereabouts and condition of the 14 Kuki civilians.
• Take strict action against every armed group involved in abductions and violence.
Selective concern and selective justice will only deepen mistrust and further damage peace in Manipur. The people deserve truth, accountability, and humanity — not silence.

Hundreds of protesters under the banner of the Kuki Students Organisation (KSO), Ukhrul District, staged a sit-in protest at Shangkai Village on Wednesday, demanding the immediate release of allegedly abducted Kuki-Zo civilians and implementation of the March 19 MoU.
The protest, supported by the Kuki Women Union and other civil society groups, saw participation from students, village leaders and members of the public amid growing unrest in Manipur’s hill districts.
KSO leaders accused authorities of administrative inaction and alleged that 14 Kuki-Zo civilians, including students, were abducted by SDSA and NSCN (IM).
Addressing the gathering, KSO Ukhrul Vice-President Mercy said the protest was a stand against “injustice, silence, and suffering,” asserting that the Kuki-Zo people were demanding “justice, dignity, security, and rightful existence.”
Protesters warned that continued silence and failure to address their demands could deepen mistrust and unrest in the already volatile region.

Opinion Article Questions Legitimacy of Pan Naga Hoho, Warns Against NSCN(IM) Dominance
l Chümoukedima l May 20 2026: — A newspaper opinion piece titled “Post-mortem: Master of our destiny” by Khekiye K. Sema, IAS (Rtd), has strongly criticized the proposed Pan Naga Hoho (PNH) under Clause 7 of NSCN(IM)’s “Competency Clauses,” calling it a threat to Nagaland’s elected government and democratic setup.
The article argues that PNH would create a supra-statutory body with sweeping authority over Nagaland, Manipur, Arunachal, and Assam, despite the Indo-Naga political issue originating in Nagaland. It claims the body would be under “complete ironclad control of the Tangkhul brothers from the South” and give dual identity privilege to Tangkhuls, allowing them to act as “elder brother of the Meiteis in Manipur and a full-fledged Naga in Nagaland.”
Key objections include PNH’s 130-member structure, its advisory role in education and development, powers to recommend Rajya Sabha nominations, and separate administrative funding by the GoI. The writer highlights that 14 Tribal Apex Hohos had already submitted a petition in December 2019 to then-Interlocutor R.N. Ravi objecting to PNH’s creation.
Calling the move a “Frankenstein” and “monstrous attempt,” the piece urges Nagas of Nagaland to demand full disclosure of NSCN(IM)’s “Competency Clauses” and asserts, “We are the Master of our Destiny.”
