Mr. Matthew Nabwiso — filmmaker, producer, and someone who has truly travelled Uganda has a message for you.
Here's what he wants you to know:
"#POATE2026 brings us something really, really unique."
Why does he say that? Because he has seen it firsthand. Having travelled around Uganda extensively, Matthew can tell you with confidence, each district has something different to offer.
One region's dance is not the same as another's. The food changes. The language shifts. The way people welcome you, the stories they tell, the crafts they make, it all varies from region to region.
And yet, all of it is Ugandan. All of it is the Pearl.
For three days, from 21st to 23rd May at Speke Resort Munyonyo, that entire spectrum of cultures, landscapes, cuisines, and experiences comes together in one space.
And his final words?
"I will be there. And so should you."

This one means a lot🙏🏾
DraQlaStreams one of Uganda’s biggest and most trusted movie channels - just reviewed Back to the Source - The Nile.
When Ugandans who know film, watch just a trailer for the film and speak on it, that is a different. That is the community saying the story landed.
Thank you to everyone who has shared, posted, quoted, and pushed #BacktotheSourceTheNile this week.
We set out to tell our own story and you are proving it was worth telling🇺🇬🌍
Cinema dates coming soon, more premieres, different cities, different countries… inshallah.
The river keeps moving.
MARATHONS WHY?
Sports tourism earned the world around usd 830bn dollars and will earn the same world around usd 2T annually in around 7yrs!
Many of the sports whether it’s football, tennis etc, you watch elite battle it out and slim chances of ever playing with them.
Athletics was the same until recent past, with a good average training you can run the same course with worlds elites.
The richer are now abandoning private jets dreams, yachts as sign of wealth, they are choosing health and running is one of the top priorities now.
They want to visit remote expensive exclusive resorts in protected areas or unique areas paying thousands of dollars per night and it’s just starting.
Look at the marathon below? Look at how it positions that city ?
450k competed for only 30k slots of the marathon? But just look at the PR and marketing for the city?
RWENZORI MARATHON 2025
Remember Sean Hammonds? Big influencer on instagram? Who came to Uganda for RWENZORI MARATHON in 2025?
He is now an official correspondent of the lonely planet and they showcased this, this week. Lonely planet alone 3.3m potential travelers.
This was a collaboration between RWENZORI MARATHON, Uganda wildlife , Uganda tourism board and ministry of foreign affairs. It’s not just about running but showcasing Uganda in the best possible way.
Forget brutal gym sessions.
Science suggests tennis might be the closest thing to a fountain of youth found so far.
Potentially adding nearly 10 extra years to your life.
Here is why it dominates other sports.
I’m inspired by how much a civil engineer like @CarolPrim3 knows about Uganda as a tourism destination .
This is exactly the direction we should take if we want everyone to benefit professionals from different fields using their knowledge, voices, and platforms to showcase our country, its beauty, and its opportunities.
When more people outside the tourism industry speak positively about Uganda, the impact becomes bigger and more authentic.

Topic: Mbarara
Personality: Influencers
However much Kampala has become highly competitive with influencers from all over the country running there in search of a “better life” this shift has created even bigger gaps and opportunities in rural cities.
During my recent visit to Mbarara, I was hosted at Omusheshe Echo Park, just a few kilometers from the city. The owner has invested millions to create a unique destination sitting on one of the second-highest peaks around Mbarara city. The view, the calm, the vision this is serious investment.
With the kind of money and vision wealthy investors are putting into places like this, the opportunity for influencers is massive. In rural cities, you actually earn more and spend less lower costs, less pressure, and higher impact.
What Mbarara truly needs is an organized, intentional team of influencers to market the region as one destination:
•A hub for tourism
•A center of rich culture
•And a growing business city
The opportunity is there. The investments are there. It’s time the influence followed.
