As the Catholic Bishops of Uganda continue their ad limina visit to Rome marked by a pilgrimage to the four Major Basilicas ,yesterday they visited the Basilica of St. Paul.
Today, they proceeded to the Basilica of St. Mary Major where they also paused in prayer at the tomb of Pope Francis.
"Ad Limina" Visit is a short form for "ad limina apostolorum," meaning "to the thresholds of the Apostles." This is a periodic pilgrimage and report made by Catholic Bishops from each country all over the world to Rome, during which they venerate the tombs of St. Peter and St. Paul, meet with the Pope, pay visits to various Dicasteries and present reports on the status of their Dioceses.
Hundreds of Catholics, including priests, gathered at the National Basilica to pray for the unborn ahead of the March for Life rally in Washington, D.C.

O Sacred Heart of Jesus,
burning with love for me,
draw my heart into Yours.
You who were pierced for my sins,
open in me the wound of divine mercy.
Teach me to rest in Your meekness,
to trust in Your promises,
and to find peace in Your will.
Make my heart like Yours—
humble....
patient, and full of compassion.
When I am weary, be my strength.
When I am cold, be my fire.
When I am lost, be my way.
When I am sinful, be my Savior
Hide me in Your Heart, O Lord,
that I may love what You love, desire what You desire, and live only for You, now and forever
The Pope through the streets of Rome. In ancient times, the Pope would travel on horseback from the Vatican to San Giovanni in Laterano to take possession of the Roman Cathedra. #LeoXIV
