If Perfect Crown had 38-40 episodes like a Cdrama, we could’ve gotten such a rich and fully developed story.
We could’ve properly seen their high school era, Huiju enduring insults from the nobles, the slow-burn process of her gradually falling for Ian, Ian’s loneliness and struggles inside the palace, and especially Ian’s friendship with Jungwoo. Because after last night’s episode, it’s obvious Ian truly trusted him deeply. There’s no point constantly calling them “best friends” if the drama barely showed us the bond between them.
We also could’ve explored Huiju’s role as Grand Princess within the inner court, her relationship with her family improving over time, and even Jungwoo’s villain arc in a more layered way instead of making it feel like pure jealousy and obsession out of nowhere.
This drama honestly had enough material and potential for a much longer, more detailed story.
And again this is purely my opinion.
