The kids are playing hotel. I am in suite #1 (my bedroom) folding laundry. 7yo has served me pretend sushi… but it seems they’re having too much trouble navigating the hotel lasers to deliver a dessert. Managing a hotel seems much more challenging than I’d ever imagined.
7yo: I don’t want cheesecake
@npcaaron: You chose Cheesecake Factory and you don’t want cheesecake?!
7yo: yeah, I like the mini corndogs here.
Also 7yo: *eats exactly one mini dog after removing all the breading from it*
Two new pet spiders have been found & named: Cornelius & Baby Junior. They aren’t keeping to their stations, however, so these might be the names for every small/medium and tiny spider in our home. So… more like classifications than names, I suppose.
The giant house spider (named Leonard) that guarded our basement stairs has died, and 10yo is incredibly distraught. This is what happens when your landlord doesn’t let you have pets. 🙃 🕷️ 🪦
We might have to conduct a spider funeral, @npcaaron
All of my cooking is low effort cooking, so if your “lazy” meal requires even 1 pan, you’ve lost me.
My lazy meal is cheese. Sometimes I put it on a plate like a fancy person.
I think at least some of these evil villains were just bad… at being villains. I know that’s the point bc we’ve Americanized these tales so the hero always wins… but you don’t get to be a witch in a fantasy world if your best spell is poisoned fruit that doesn’t poison properly
When fairytales call witches or fairies “evil” I wonder if the translation was supposed to be “bad.” Because they always have to force their magic into being. “Evil” fairy in sleeping beauty had to lure the princess to the loom and tell her to touch the spindle.
Ursula might be evil, but by now if you’ve been on the internet, you’ve probably seen the Nicole Byer bit about her… and yeah. She might’ve been evil about it, but she was also correct, while choosing to be an incorrect octopus. Also, her magic actually worked.
