From a sweet courtside moment to a graduation party invite ππππ
Back in March at the girls state basketball tournament, 8-year-old Maren Peterson asked Jenica Lewis if they could be friends. Last weekend, the JHS basketball star invited Maren and her family to her graduation partyβand surprised her with a signed poster!
The two share something in common, both girls are living with Type 1 diabetes.
Maren's mom tells KCCI that the newfound friendship is simply "amazing." Maren and Jenica will walk together at the Breakthrough T1D Walk in Ankeny on Saturday.
