Been on this app since 2009. It used to be the funnest place on earth. It’t not that anymore. Not remotely. I see no inherent value at present in being on here. The toxicity is deafening. It’s @selema at the other places and I’m gonna be on Substack.✌🏾
"For years to come, there are many people on the right... that are going to be having to explain and justify how they fell into this trap of supporting Donald Trump."
-Marco Rubio (2016), who was just named Trump's Secretary of State
"If you came to me and you told me I had a legitimate shot to win the presidency of the United States of America, I would definitely consider it." - Stephen A. Smith on The View
This was never about issues. The economy is in great shape. Inflation is just coporate greed. More manufacturing, low unemployment. A healthy economy is supported by a 30% migrant labor force. It’s not about abortion. White women and affluent women know they can always access reproductive care. The GOP created a guest worker program because they want the migrant labor. This election was about the great replacement. A reaction to the society changing around them. The ultimate protection of white privilege. Let the retribution begin.
The amount of dream catcher, fitness, wellness folk and chiropractors that quietly pulled the lever for Drumpf because they believe that RFK is some sort of Messiah. Whew. Alt Right Love and Light are the actual silent killers.
I’ve still got hope in the blue wall coming through. But man, the manner in which so much of this country joyfully swims in racism, bigotry and misogyny as a sign of power, is wholly sobering. That and the hopeful proximity to whiteness sect that vote against themselves. WILD.
It is incredible to me the manner in which this much of this country still goes out of its way to make voting the most difficult task. Like how the f:ck are we not doing this on the weekend or making it a national holiday. It’s insane.
Now that's how you organize! Thank you, Allie Redhorse Young, for showing up for your community and helping the Diné people protect their sacred right to vote.
