The lone holdout juror in Lindsay Clancy's murder trial is speaking publicly for the first time, disputing fellow jurors who claimed he acknowledged reasonable doubt before refusing to join the other 11 in finding her not guilty by reason of insanity.

Michael P. Desronvil says he believed prosecutors presented enough evidence to show Clancy "knew exactly what she was doing and planned" the killings. The jury ultimately deadlocked 11-1, resulting in a mistrial.

Clancy is due back in court Sept. 29 as prosecutors weigh whether to retry the case.

🚨 Nancy Mace 🚨 has weighed into the Lindsay Clancy case with a stark warning: “If postpartum mental illness becomes a get-out-of-jail-free card for m*rdering your children, then by logic, anyone diagnosed with it should lose custody of their kids.” Her comments come as Clancy’s Massachusetts m*rder trial remains unresolved, with jurors still deliberating over whether she was criminally responsible when she k*lled her three young children in January 2023.

Clancy’s defense argues she was suffering from postpartum psychosis and was unable to control her actions, while prosecutors contend she understood what she was doing and deliberately planned the killings. Postpartum psychosis is a rare but severe psychiatric condition that can involve hallucinations, delusions and a profound loss of contact with reality.

Mace’s argument is that recognizing postpartum mental illness should not automatically remove accountability for k*lling a child. But critics of that position would point out that an insanity defense is not simply a blanket excuse based on having a diagnosis — the legal question is whether the defendant’s mental illness left them criminally responsible for their actions at that specific time. That is exactly what the Clancy jury is being asked to decide.

And importantly, a verdict of not guilty by reason of insanity would not necessarily mean Clancy simply “walks free.” She could instead be committed to a psychiatric facility, with her continued confinement subject to future evaluations. Whatever the verdict, this heartbreaking case has opened a much bigger conversation about accountability, postpartum psychiatric illness and whether America is doing enough to recognize and treat mothers experiencing severe mental-health crises before tragedy occurs.

At some point, we have to stop making the simplest facts complicated.

Three children went into that house alive.

Their mother strangled them.

Three separate children. Three separate acts.

And now twelve people are sitting on their asses in a room unable to agree on whether she should be held criminally responsible?

What exactly are we debating?

There has to be a line somewhere.

If deliberately killing your own three children doesn’t cross it, then I genuinely don’t know where the hell that line is anymore.
