@anton_t0shik I see! Honestly, the issue in OO languages like #CSharp or #Java is going to be that the only data container in the entire language is a class. I mean a Map is also just a plain class with some fancy interface. So I think you're out of luck on this one 🤔
@anton_t0shik I see. Using strings as keys, I still see but then only having Object as the values is completely breaking the type-safety that both example languages live from. So that is worse IMHO. The only chance then is to type-cast everytime you need a value which is insanely error-prone.
@flo_walther I do have to agree! The most important thing that differentiates functions from methods IMO is that a reference to the class instance is implicitly available in every invocation of a method (this) which is of course the case in extension functions.
@flo_walther My favorite gotta be the purple "Gradianto" (although the other colors are also nice). It's in the IntelliJ Plugin Marketplace. I use that since years, looks similar to "Solarized Dark" but a bit nicer even IMHO!
What a first week of the new year for the channel 🎉
On NYE, I tweeted to have reached 311 subscribers. A week later, it's 361!
The message is clear for me as you clearly liked the video that created most of this. I'll look into creating more advanced videos like that.
Thanks!
@AnaStanescu22 You'll see that it's gonna be impossible to memorize EVERYTHING. As long as you know why and what you copied or ideally adapted (straight up copying rarely fits and makes it more likely to not fully understand what was copied) and know what it does, there's nothing wrong with it!
@antonarhipov Thanks so much @antonarhipov for the mention! I'm humbled ☺️
Was a fun video to produce, I think a related follow-up regarding the metadata in the bytecode will follow 👌🏻
@uwais_al_qadri As a tip: `Result<T>` is literally shipped with every installation of #Kotlin (https://t.co/yRyMbKcwsK).
I made a video about it some time ago, if you want the full picture: https://t.co/Mwv0fLqYuK 🙂
Although it doesn't have a `loading` state.
As the year 2021 ends, time for a quick review:
I started this channel exactly 5 months ago, am now sitting at 311 subscribers and 8000 views. Very happy and first and foremost: It's fun 😊
Looking forward to what 2022 will bring, dedicated to producing the best content I can!
The (probably) last video on the channel this year!
For this one, I analyzed almost 40 of Kotlin's features and language constructs to see how each compiles into byte-code/Java.
Check out the most interesting ones:

#kotlin#jvm#bytecode#compiler
@allenholub It does indeed seem to be more difficult!
What can make quite a difference as well is that they touch each other as little as possible, otherwise the evaporation collects at these points instead of going into the air, making them soggier as a result.
Even though the majority of my popular #YouTube videos are #Kotlin related, keep in mind that I produce plenty of general #SoftwareDevelopment content as well!
As a personal recommendation, give this video a shot 👌

@jsonjunkie Honest question: I fully get the height-adjustability but how do you personally make use of the mobility? 🙂
Sounds like an interesting use-case I might not have yet 😅
@StreamersDev Right, didn't know you got these stats publicly on your page! Such a cool project 💪🏻
I'll start streaming again as well in the new year, it's a lot of fun 😊
@donkersgood Funnily enough, the only way that I remember it by now is by writing docs for Kotlin (KDoc) one does general reference by [] to use the same literal identifier in the final text which is the same as the part displayed as the hyperlink in MD. Weird mnemonic, but it works 😅
