BREAKING NEWS. Alex Eala makes history yet again as the first Filipino in the Open era to win in a Grand Slam main draw, stunning world No. 15 Clara Tauson of Denmark, 6-3, 2-6, 7-6(11), to reach the second round of the 2025 US Open.
Eala trailed 1-5 in the third set but forced a tiebreak to score a thrilling breakthrough triumph.
Alex Eala became the first player to represent the Philippines at Wimbledon in the Open Era.
She took the defending singles champion Barbora Krejcikova to three sets in their first round match.
