Turn up the lights — We spotlight Dr. Frederick Douglas Reese an Alabama State University alum, political leader, civil rights activist, educator, minister, and president of the Dallas County Voters League (DCVL) when it invited Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to Selma.
We highlight Dr. Patricia Robinson as the Selma (AL) Chapter’s Miss HBCU. Through the generosity of members like Dr. Robinson, the Area was able to award 25 scholarships to students at 11 HBCUs and the local chapter awarded 3 scholarships to HBCU students in Alabama.
