I care deeply about our community. I have always been one to roll up my sleeves when an opportunity to help arises. Thank you, Jim, for giving me the opportunity to help.
Working families are feeling the pinch right now. Whether it be a family member is out of a job, or balancing a job and helping kids with online learning. For working women it is especially hard. But we are strong.
Chane and Jim,
Thank you for your kind words. If elected, I will work with fellow legislators across the aisle ensuring that the work we do is for the betterment of all Oregonians. The last thing we need is more politicians unwilling to work with one another.
Last week I toured Active Recovery TMS – Salem. Active Recovery is a great clinic with a goal of offering an innovative treatment for depression. Mayor Chuck Bennett was at the clinic where he made a proclamation designating October as Depression Prevention and Education Month.
Rising home prices and cost of healthcare and childcare are all but a few factors that worry young people planning to start a family. Our state has failed young people by not passing a child tax credit. My opponent was instrumental in the failure of the proposed tax credit.
The economic affects of the COVID-19 pandemic and recent wildfires stress the importance of ensuring working families have more money in their pockets, not less. Piling on taxes as our small businesses and families struggle to get by is not a viable solution to our budget crisis.
Great news! Central School District will continue to distribute free meals until the end of the year. The latest waivers from the USDA extended summer protocols and allows Central SD to continue feeding all children aged 1 – 18 at no charge.

Yesterday and today mark the first day of school for students in our community! Even though mine and my kids’ days of schooling is long gone, I always feel joy during this time. Learning is an essential component of life and it's something that happens daily!
Our leaders must not forget about the hard-working single moms in our community. We must do everything we can to support them. Taxing basic necessities moms need such as diapers, formula, and food – something my opponent voted for – adds unnecessary pressure. We must be better.
Polk County announced a few weeks ago that it's expanding its rural broadband coverage. This is wonderful news. As school continues to be online and people work remotely, the last thing they should worry about is their internet connection.

There are a lot of questions right now concerning our four-legged companions in this time of wildfires. The Willamette Humane Society has put together information that you can find here: https://t.co/OU8TnfduKV. Please share to those who needs this information.
It was so great to be able to stop by the West Salem Farmers Market last week. I picked up some wonderful fruit and vegetables. I also picked up a beautiful bouquet of flowers for Grandma!

This is wonderful news. Salem’s international sister city, Gimhae, South Korea sent 20,000 KF94 masks to the Salem Fire Department last week. Having PPE for our first responders is a must and I’m so glad we have even more PPE available!
