@soibouuu I’ll go look at it whenever I have the time, might see a review of it xx depending whenever im not busy and haven’t got a project to finish lmao
@soibouuu Yeah this is why I gives me a bit of a red flag, I would’ve liked if this was the interpretation, and likely agreed to now seeing her as only mixed race from now on. But because it’s not that case, idk how feel about it
@soibouuu But yeah, if this was Disney intentions to why she’s mixed race, because it’s more historically accurate, I would’ve agreed to this 😅 like I don’t understand why they just replied saying ‘your racist’ rather then saying why they did it.
@soibouuu I mean you aren’t wrong seeing Athena as black. I don’t know if this is correct, but I read she’s historically dark skinned. Which would make sense if Ariel is mixed now. But some picture her as white
@soibouuu But then again I think I would’ve preferred her as Caucasian, if it was trying to go accurately from the original source material, it will make it look less then a race swap.
@soibouuu Well yes, you have good points, I think you had trouble understanding why I cared for the other side. And don’t get me wrong I love diversity, especially diverse characters, I just like it when it’s done correctly.
@soibouuu I mean I just saw the wings and green dress, but yeah fair enough, but I would’ve preferred it if they included her friends in the show, since her friend group is quite diverse. And it is a reboot after all, why not make some changes to include that.
@soibouuu Yeah Disney really only took one comment of ‘Ariel is white’ and just said that’s racist, and used the fish excuse, which is very dumb, because Ariel turns into a human in the end
