Your patterns are created in childhood.
At one point they kept you safe. Waking up is realizing that today they cause you suffering. Healing is slowly unlearning them.
Childhood trauma makes intimate relationships overwhelming because our body goes into panic when we get close to someone. It remembers when we got the silent treatment, when we were hit, criticized, shamed, or neglected. So, we push people away even when we want them to stay.
