@jclimacus5 But 'converge' still assumes they start apart. Even in those traditions, enlightenment is something reached - not something you begin with.

then most of what we are never appears to us at all.
It makes self-knowledge feel less like discovery
and more like a very partial translation.
@Philip_Goff Rejecting penal substitution because it was invented 500 years ago seems reasonable-but where does that logic stop? Does older necessarily mean more accurate, or just less obviously constructed?
