Treated uninsured patients as a doctor in Louisiana’s charity hospital system, now serving the people of my state in the US Senate. Proud LSU grad! #GeauxTigers
Just like many, I am shocked to learn of Senator Graham’s passing. Lindsey was a part of every important conversation the Senate had over the last two decades. He’s left a mark on the Senate and will be missed.
A year ago, I laid out a bipartisan plan to strengthen Social Security through an investment fund, which will consistently deliver benefits to current and future retirees. Today, the message remains the same: Congress MUST ACT NOW to save Social Security from becoming insolvent in 6 years, causing a funding crisis for those owed benefits.

Every American who pays into Social Security deserves the peace of mind that it will be there when they retire. That’s why I'm working on a bipartisan solution to strengthen the program, not wait until retirees see a 24% benefit cut in 6 years when the program goes insolvent.
Thank you to our interns for their hard work and enthusiasm over the past several weeks. They have made meaningful contributions to my office and to the people we serve.
They have bright futures ahead of them! 🇺🇸
Louisiana just secured over $50 million in BUILD Grants to improve roads and highways across the state! This includes $25 million to extend Winfield Road to connect with Highway 3 in Bossier Parish, over $19 million to improve Siegen Lane in St. George, and $5 million to complete the engineering and final design of a roadway serving the New Orleans Airport.
My bipartisan infrastructure bill included billions in BUILD Grants across America. I’m determined to help our communities secure as much of that money as possible.
July 4th is the day our founding fathers pledged their life, fortune, and sacred honor to our struggle for what became the United States. Since, over a million Americans have sacrificed their life in war to preserve our country.
Today, people make a living attacking fellow Americans and creating divisions. But Lincoln said, “A house divided against itself cannot stand.” This July 4th, let us stand together. Let’s celebrate the last 250 years and pledge our life, fortune and sacred honor to the next 250 years.
Anna St. John’s legal practice demonstrates the ability to apply precedent and the Constitution to important legal questions and to explain her reasoning. She will serve ably.
For my June Local Spotlight, I am highlighting James Joseph — a former Harlem Globetrotter and UPS driver who has installed more than 24,000 air conditioning units and provided washers and dryers to schools in underserved communities throughout Louisiana. Thank you for your commitment to our state, James!
Americans can barely afford life. It's up to Congress and the White House to care and to address that.
My MVP Agenda lowers health care costs, puts patients first, and makes everyday life affordable again!!

Today’s SCOTUS ruling confirms what should have never been in doubt: Title IX is there to allow fair competition for women and girls. Forcing female athletes to compete against biological males is unfair and undermines the promise of Title IX. It is a good day for common sense.
Congratulations to Keith Sonderling on his nomination to be Secretary of Labor. I enjoy working with him, and I appreciate his thoughtful leadership at @USDOL. He is the kind of pro-worker leader that Americans deserve. I look forward to hearing from him before the HELP Committee.
We’re fixing America’s broken higher education system!! If a program is leaving graduates worse off, loans for those programs will NOT be subsidized by taxpayers. This does two BIG things:
✅Holds universities accountable for low-earning programs
✅Protects students from insurmountable debt from degrees they cannot pay off
The Trump Administration’s policy is simple: if programs do not leave graduates better off than if they never enrolled in college, then taxpayers won’t subsize their failing programs anymore.
I’m not quite sure what Stephanie is saying. I demanded a briefing and the White House gave me one within hours. I had been saying for a week that I needed a briefing before I considered changing my vote.
I understand you might not like President Trump and that might color your perception. For me, I do what’s best for my country and my state.

Mr. President, I don’t know which version of the SAVE America Act you’re referring to, but I am a cosponsor and support the latest version. I don’t know which staffer misled you, but thank you for your attention to this matter!!
Btw, it’s irresponsible to postpone signing the Housing bill due to the SAVE Act. We need to start delivering relief to people for the high cost of housing ASAP!!

Measles can make people very sick. Not just children, but healthy adults. If an unvaccinated person is in a room with someone who has measles, there is a 90% chance that they will also get measles. Protect your family with the MMR vaccine.

Unlimited federal student loans has fueled skyrocketing debt and allowed colleges to raise prices.
Republicans put a cap on unlimited grad loans, tackling the root cause of skyrocketing debt and tuition.
Results have come quick. Universities are LOWERING tuition.
Congratulations to Chris Klomp on his nomination to be Deputy Secretary of HHS. This is an encouraging pick. He is dedicated to improving the health of Americans and has been a strong leader at @MedicareGov. I am excited to hear more about his vision before the HELP and Finance Committees.
