On the margins of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, I met with H.E. Mr. Jozef Síkela, European Commissioner for International Partnerships.
Our discussions focused on the cooperation and partnership relations between Mauritania and the European Union, as well as ways to further strengthen and develop them in pursuit of our shared interests.
We also exchanged views on a number of issues of common interest.
H.E. Mr. Síkela reaffirmed the European Union’s commitment to strengthening and expanding the scope of cooperation with Mauritania, and reiterated its commitment to financing and implementing the high-voltage electricity transmission line project linking Nouakchott and Néma within the established timeframe.
