Official Twitter for Senator Nikil Saval. Fighting for residents of the 1st Senatorial District in Philly and for all Pennsylvanians. Solidarity forever.
WE JUST WON $125 MILLION FOR WHOLE-HOME REPAIRS! This is a direct investment in our people, our homes, and our communities, and an unprecedented victory for the coalition of housing and energy advocates, community organizers, PA residents, and legislators who backed it. 1/

Today, the Digital Ads Tax bill passed out of the House Finance Committee! Cosponsored with @RepAbney and @RepInglis, this bill would bring in $500 million in revenue to Pennsylvania yearly - and that number is projected to increase as the industry grows.
A bill from @SenatorSaval would raise the taxes of billionaires while keeping it the same for working Pennsylvanians.
His bill would generate $3.75 billion annually.
The loss of Dito van Reigersberg, better known to the world as Martha Graham Cracker, is heartbreaking. Our office sends our sincere condolences to Dito’s loved ones, collaborators, and all who he inspired. We grieve along with our entire city for this singular icon.
Van Reigersberg helped expand what drag could look and sound like in Philadelphia: theatrical, literary, absurd, deeply musical, and emotionally alive. https://t.co/KuLXFZuCXu
Our representatives in Harrisburg stand with us @phillydefenderstaffunion as we head into an election to vote union yes (again!) next week. Grateful for their support keeping Right to Work out of philly, today and everyday! @senatorsaval @repbwaxman @reptarikkhan @RepKrajewski
Join us in Eastwick this Saturday for a community conversation with elected officials and city agencies on the work being done to support the neighborhood and what’s ahead for the future. Your voice matters.
We asked the moms of Marc Vetri, Alex Holley, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Brad Ingelsby, Jesús Luzardo, and State Senator Nikil Saval to offer up their best advice, memories, and hard-earned child rearing wisdom. (P.S. Nice glasses, Marc!) https://t.co/nsbraSXniY
Team KGR was proud to close out National Apprenticeship Week by joining our partners at the Elevate YOU(th) Community Fair!
Held at One Art Community Center in West Philadelphia, we came together and connected our residents with industry professionals, resources, and real opportunities to explore registered apprenticeship programs and career pathways.
There was also food, music and interactive demonstrations for attendees to enjoy!
A big thank you to @PhillyAFLCIO
my colleague @CMThomasPHL@SenatorSaval the Philadelphia Building Trades, and every partner involved in making this event possible. 💙
My colleagues and I in the Senate believe in the necessity of organized labor not just for the workers in a single workplace but for the well-being of our entire commonwealth. We won’t be silent as the university stalls.
To the graduate workers at Penn State, I’m with you!
Graduate Assistants at @penn_state democratically decided to form a union as @cge_psu. It’s past time for Penn State to respect that decision, cease the legal challenges, and come to the table to bargain in good faith.
Whether we managed to catch you at home or not, I'm here for you. Get in touch with your questions and concerns at 267-668-3550 or email me at [email protected]. We look forward to serving you!
Knock, knock! 👋🏾 My team and I had a great time in the neighborhood speaking with constituents about our legislative priorities and offering support with state matters.
We're hiring a Director of Organizing and Advocacy! We’re looking for someone who wants to build a more just, equitable world as part of our dynamic team.

We deserve a future that is sustainable, fair, and free. That's why we continue to organize, to build collective power to oppose exploitation and extraction, and to fight for a green economy and world that allows all living things to thrive. Happy Earth Day!
Dedicated parents, staff, and students used their voices, marched, and demanded the district protect the beloved Ludlow and Moffet school communities—and the district listened. I’m proud to have stood alongside you in this fight!
The School District of Philadelphia has again revised its plan for closing, merging and investing in school facilities over the next 10 years.
The update spares North Philadelphia’s Ludlow Elementary School from recommended closure.

Children, teachers and staff deserve safe, healthy school buildings including fully functioning bathrooms. I am deeply concerned by persistent plumbing and other issues at Southwark School.
Read the letter we just sent to the School District and Board urging them to act now.
I recently interviewed @SenatorSaval and one of the topics we talked about was his previous work in media as an editor and journalist and how that helped him as an elected official.
