Working mom, PA State Rep for the 184th District from #SouthPhilly, & Chair of House Energy Committee. Was a reporter at @WHYY for a decade covering politics 🔎
Public space is crucial for our communities. Since taking office, I've helped bring in over $3.6 million to revitalize parks, rec centers, school courtyards, and more. This week, I'm happy to announce SPRING, my initiative to bring more state dollars back to the district.
Extreme heat is deadly: about 40 workers die yearly from exposure to heat. These deaths are tragic - and preventable. With guidelines for shade, water, and rest, we can protect the people who keep Pa. running. I'm proud to cosponsor Workplace Heat Protections w/ @RepHaddock
I spoke about Digital Ads Tax this week with at the #TaxBillionairesFundPA rally and at SEIU's #TaxBillionaireFundHealthcare event. I'm hopeful about the bill's chances on the House floor in the coming weeks.
Today, the Digital Ads Tax bill passed out of the House Finance Committee! Cosponsored with @RepAbney and @RepInglis, this bill would bring in $500 million in revenue to Pennsylvania yearly - and that number is projected to increase as the industry grows.
Every workplace death is preventable. This week, the House Labor Committee held a hearing on Workplace Heat Protections, my bill with @RepHaddock. We saw an outpouring of support for the bill from labor, environmental, health, farmwork, and occupational safety advocates.
More than 200 @seiuhcpa members and @powerinterfaith visited Harrisburg this week with a clear message: as families and workers struggle, we must fund healthcare. My digital ads tax bill with @RepAbney and @RepInglis, would bring in millions of revenue to fund healthcare in PA.
I'm calling on a simple update to our tax code so Big Tech stops getting a free ride. Closing this loophole would add millions to fund schools, transit, and more. https://t.co/M7ns3YUYtV
TODAY: Lawmakers, labor leaders, environmental advocates, farmers and workers will gather in the Capitol at 12:30pm to call for urgent action on Workplace Heat Protections. As we head into another record-breaking summer in PA, we must ensure worker safety. https://t.co/d5tWgfcVwM
I was happy to sit down with Sean Kitchen @pennslinger of @TheKeystone recently to talk about what House Democrats are doing to address energy affordability. My Return on Equity Bill HB2224 would protect working people by preventing utility price gouging. https://t.co/aO24mLtsPe
More Solar for Schools in the news! 🌞 “We think anywhere from 60-70 percent of our electricity will actually be generated by panels we own," says Superintendent Ken Kerchenske of the Cambria Heights School District

It's Heat Safety Week 2026. Last summer, I introduced the Workplace Heat Protections bill with @RepHaddock. As we head into what is sure to be another record-setting summer, we can't leave Pa. workers behind. Learn more about this bill at https://t.co/yToYfAYP72
When our neighbors are struggling to cover basics while utility companies make historic profits, something has to change. HB2224, introduced today with @RepBurgos, will shield your utility bills from corporate greed. Lawmakers should work for the people - not the shareholders.
The bills are too high. Today @RepBurgos and I introduced our Return on Equity bill. Utility companies are gaming the system and raising rates on customers. HB2224 simply says these companies shouldn't make excessive profits at the expense of working families.
As lawmakers struggle to curb rising electricity costs, a Philly lawmaker’s bill would help rein in utility profits.
“The entire system is out of whack,” said state Rep. Elizabeth Fiedler.

A huge congratulations to Penn State Faculty Alliance on their successful union election! Representing over 5,000 workers, they are now the largest public sector union in Pennsylvania - this is a historic win!
I'm happy to be welcomed to City Hall tomorrow to speak at this hearing about energy affordability - a topic I've been focused on as Chair of the House Energy Committee. We have real solutions at the city and state level to bring costs down and protect working families.
Energy costs are rising, and too many of our neighbors are feeling it across Philly and beyond.
Along with Councilmember Driscoll, we’re hosting a hearing to dig into solutions. Join us May 12, 1PM at City Hall, Room 400.
To testify, Register with my office by May 11, 3PM.
You don't hear "unanimous" too often in Harrisburg, but when it comes to practical solutions to energy affordability, I'm glad we can find common ground. I'm happy to share that my Advanced Transmission Technologies bill is moving forward. https://t.co/9sIHxlRIkF
Electric bills are going up. We need smarter, cost-effective solutions to expand electrical capacity. I voted YES on @RepFiedler's bill to use advanced grid technology to expand the current infrastructure we have while keeping costs down for folks in PA. https://t.co/7vKnYekkVA
@AFTPA@CCPedu Closing out our lineup today is Kevin Busher, Chief Advocacy Officer of the @PSBA about their work to support schools with funding, and how Solar for Schools fits into that work.
Solar for Schools is the grant program I helped pass in 2024, a way for school districts in Pa. to install and own their own solar panels. Today at 1pm, superintendents and advocates will celebrate the program and share updates on their projects: https://t.co/fpIK4rEpPP
@AFTPA@CCPedu As Director of Business and Operations at the Carlisle School District, Mike Statler knows firsthandthe district’s investment in solar has led to longterm savings. He was happy to share that installation at their elementary school is projected to be complete by the end of 2026.
