Money and proximity to power [read whiteness]. African Governments do not have money. And they do not have clear strategies on how to make that money. Our leaders on their best days are trained beggars.
Africa's only battle to be won is economic. We are still not free.
A baby staring at you and suddenly smiling feels like getting a five-star review from someone who cannot be bribed. This tiny human has zero social obligations and thought, “Yep, I like this face.” Absolutely undefeated endorsement.

In case you’re struggling today, you should know that life is extremely easy to navigate, everyone except you does it effortlessly. You, personally, are uniquely terrible and unqualified to live. Out of everyone, only you face setbacks. You are the world’s Omelas child.
With the way the economy is, making the mistake of waking up in the middle of the night means you’re not sleeping again. 😂 You’ll spend the rest of the night calculating how you’re going to survive till morning. 😭
This is 15-year-old Angel Msyalie, and her story will inspire you. Angel was born healthy, but at three, she started experiencing health problems. Despite this, she always excelled in school and remained one of the best students in her class.
Then, in October last year, while in Form 4, Angel suddenly collapsed and became paralysed. She moved between hospitals, doctors and prayers. Her condition improved, and she returned to school in a wheelchair before eventually learning to walk again with the aid of a walker. But just a few weeks before her MSCE examinations, Angel collapsed again and stopped breathing. She was rushed to hospital and somehow recovered.
After missing weeks of school and sitting her examinations in a wheelchair, Angel scored an incredible 13 points, placing her among the top three students at Kings Foundation Schools, Rose Academy. Today, Kings Foundation Schools rewarded her resilience with MK1 million.
Congratulations, Angel! And congratulations to Kings Foundation Schools, which produced four students with 12 points, 251 students scoring between 12 and 29 points, and an overall pass rate of 92%!
