On the 21st of October 1937 the new Blackpool Victoria Hospital was officially opened by H.R.H. Prince George, Duke of Kent.
Costing £12m to build, £9m was provided in donations by the people of Blackpool, holidaymakers and business organisations.

James Walmsley was manager of Blackpool Tower’s aquarium, he liked to drink sea water from his tanks. On the 17th June 1915 Jim was to imbibe his last drop, for late on that day his lifeless body was mysteriously discovered beneath the filter beds. #strangedeaths#cemetery

@Darkveilpara1 @OGOMProject I visited Sambo's grave many years ago. Another visitor told me Sambo pined to death for his master whom he thought had abandoned him but was in fact on a sea voyage.
