America is not perfect, but its willingness to recognize when it has fallen short and its insistence on holding itself to a higher moral standard set it apart. Other countries don’t even pretend to operate that way.

In a single lifetime, America has delivered extraordinary progress in terms of rights protections alongside major advances in integration, innovation, and meritocracy.

And what makes it uniquely powerful is its unmatched ability to attract talent from around the world, organize people effectively, and generate fairness and opportunity at scale.

That kind of openness, dynamism, and genuine meritocracy remains rare even in much of Europe.

So yes, America is still great.
