Never mix sports and politics is the stupidest line ever because:
1. When countries boycotted South Africa during the apartheid era they mixed sports with politics.
2. When Australia refuses to play bilaterals against Afghanistan they mix sports with politics.
3. When England boycotted Zimbabwe because of Robert Mugabe they mixed sports with politics.
India and Pakistan will also do the same. If you do not like it too bad. When Russia is boycotted in Olympics and other sports everyone is mixing sports with politics. You just don't like when India does it.

FACT CHECK: Quarterly Quibbles Over GDP, a Reexamination.

Subhash Garg has set the cat among the pigeons by inventing a figure 2.6% to counter the official 7.8% GDP growth estimate. I am exposing this shameful data manipulation by proving both these figures wrong. I also cite sources for creating a citation loop for both IT cells. But let us examine the first.

If the first quarter data shocked you, wait till you add the second quarter. The number fudging has been going on for a long time.

This business of the first quarter being wrong is a narrative some people are trying to set. Don't fall for it. It has always been the same. Governments come and go, base effects come and go, revised estimates come and go. The basic arithmetic remains the same.

I am not an economist, but frankly the numbers don't add up. Let's dissect the figures. One quarter plus one quarter should be two quarters. It is not. It is 375. A quarter is 180, so two quarters should be 360, but somewhere between the first and the second it magically becomes 375.

An increase from 360 to 375 represents a 4.17% growth. But the official growth estimates say 7.8%. All this jiggery-pokery is to round up to 750 for a full, i.e. four quarters. Honest arithmetic says 720. Who invented this 30 and filled in? Nobody asks where and how either. The growth in Gross Domestic Peg (GDP) shows it has been steady.

However, one sees a significant increase when it comes to non-domestic measurement. At the duty free, the same full suddenly becomes 1,000. Those who can afford international travel get 250 extra for having the resources for a full. The commoner's full stops at 750. Shame that the economy, we are told, is in high spirits.
