Ömrünü @itu1773 e vakfeden merhum Prof. Erdoğan Şuhubi anısına hazırladığımız Journal of Elasticity özel sayısı halen makaleleri kabul ediyor! Hocamız, bir mühendisdi fakat kendini felsefe yönünden bir temel bilimci olarak görürdü, rahmetle aniyorum @ProfHasanMandal@SpringerEng
Another Elasticity Day came to an end, this time in Keele University. Giving a talk, meeting new people and seeing old friends, all at once… Enjoyed a lot!

One year ago today Turkish mathematician Professor Erdoğan Şuhubi (Istanbul Technical Univ.) passed away. His impact on mathematics of mechanics is huge. It is a great honour to be the editor of this special issue to be published in the Journal of Elasticity.

My PhD supervisor, Sir John Ball FRS, is finishing his term as the President of the Royal Society of Edinburgh. He certainly is the greatest of all; mathematician, philosopher, colleague, mentor, friend… How lucky I am to be able to learn from him. https://t.co/bXBFclIsH8
It was great to host Florian Theil from Univ. of Warwick to give a talk on kinetic equations, in particular, the Boltzmann equation. Some breakthroughs in mathematics are still happening and it feels great to witness them.
Picture in the common room after the talk…
