1/When a tropical storm hits Singapore, demand for rides can jump nine to ten times.
That is the moment everyone needs a car.
It is also the moment autonomous vehicles can help the least.
Heavy rain changes lane visibility, sensor returns and pedestrian behaviour all at once
5/ In Episode 29 of Autonomy Insiders, I sat down with Dominic Ong, General Manager Autonomous at $GRAB , to understand how autonomy works in a region where drivers are not the bottleneck.

4/ Cities will eventually tender robotaxi licenses with a cap on vehicle numbers.
When your fleet size is capped, every empty mile driven to a depot is pure loss.
And the "it's cheap enough to drive somewhere else to charge" argument ignores the traffic it creates.
