Today, we honored WWII veteran and former POW SSGT Irvin Ellingson as he was finally brought home to North Dakota after more than 80 years.

Thanks to the work of @dodpaa, Irvin’s remains were identified and returned home, allowing his family and fellow North Dakotans to properly honor his service and sacrifice. It was an honor joining his family and community in commemorating his life.
