Colin Cleary '25 was directing air traffic in Hanson when he caught up with Mr. Mal this morning. For this HHS junior, like so many others, meaningful encounters with teachers happen in and out of the classroom, every day of the week.
Our friends at @AFS have posted a profile about HHS as the 2024 AFS-USA Global School of the Year. Reading it will surely generate pride in all who wear Hingham red! https://t.co/tFZ3KLiOJ2
At HHS, the pursuit (and achievement!) of excellence can be found in ALL of our classrooms, including the woodshop. Exhibit A: This incredible bowl, handmade by Jordan Peterson '24. It's spectacular!
Reese Pompeo and her teammates are sure to score many goals with the sticks pulled from this new rack. All design and construction completed in the HHS woodshop, by HHS students, with expert supervision from a master craftsman and teacher, Mr. Malerbi!
Breaking news: HHS has been named the 2024 AFS-USA Global School of the Year! The award goes to a school that advances the @AFS mission of "creating a more just and peaceful world through intercultural learning and exchange.” This award belongs to our whole school and community!
Many thanks to our Hingham neighbors, Mario and Florita Vega, who visited our Spanish Culture class today. Students learned a lot about Costa Rica, including vocabulary (like "chiva," which means "really good") that could be used to describe their excellent presentation!
There are lots of reasons why HHS teams enjoy great success. For example: Our student athletes are supported by amazing teachers who would do anything for them. Even designing and building a new stick rack. Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Mal!
Two Hour Delay - Due to inclement weather conditions and icy roads impacting the safety of our morning commute, all Hingham Public Schools will be delayed by two hours.
After extensive travels in Spain, Kerry McAuley '21 returned to HHS today to meet with Senora Malerbi's students. Her journey will no doubt inspire the next generation of HHS world travelers!
Even when you outgrow trick-or-treating, Halloween can still deliver plenty of fun. Especially if you're on the field trip to the Museum of Fine Arts with Ms. Bays and Senora Malerbi!
As we approach the long holiday weekend, don't forget to thank a veteran 🇺🇸. For example: HHS math teacher Chris Burke, who served on the USS Bowen with the US Navy from 1987 - 1990.
Celia Cruz was a Cuban-American singer, cultural icon, and one of the most popular #Latin artists of the 20th century. The reverse design of #HerQuarter depicts Cruz flashing her dazzling smile while performing in a rumba style dress. https://t.co/Tya9Ibxp1v

@MisterEShow @HinghamArt I really liked Photo of the Week. It helped me connect with my students that we had in common and was a great conversation starter. Thanks for all your hard work, Ryan. You really help the kids shine.
In March, beloved Dedham Oakdale Elementary School teacher Christine Stec tragically passed away from pancreatic cancer after an almost year long fight. Now, students at Oakdale are planning to perform a new song celebrating her life. https://t.co/A8gILS3rQt
